本单元主要内容是运用:How is the weather? 谈论天气以及灵活运用描述天气情况的形容词,并继续运用现在进行时来描述人们的即时活动。教材紧紧围绕这一主题展开了各项活动旨在培养学生的听说读写技能。

教学反思
本节课设计的主要目标是听和说,但由于比较贴合学生的实际,而且也是学生较为感兴趣的话题,因此他们在富有情趣的交际中愉快主动地接受信息、加工信息、交流信息,所以本节课的目标在愉悦的课堂气氛中得到落实和巩固。本节课一个较难为处理的是把对话应用到实际中来。

3. Get Ss to look at Picture C .Tell them:It’s Chengdu. How is the weather in it? It’s sunny. Is it cool? No, it’s hot. It’s hot
4. Make a survey by the whole class. Ask Ss:Who likes the cold weather? Have Ss raise their
hands. Check out the most popular and the least popular weather. Get Ss to talk about the local weather in 4 seasons.

After talking about the local weather in 4 seasons, let’s watch different weather in other countries.
Tell Ss Mary is in Mexico. Play this phone conversation between Eric and Mary. Listen carefully to their questions and answers. Play the tape the first time, Ss only listen.
Play the tape again and have Ss catch the answers Mary and Eric give to the question
How’s it going?
Listen again and write what they answer to What are you doing? and How’s the weather?
Step 5 Interview
1.Further discussion. Show 3 pictures. With the 4 questions
①Where is it? ②How is the weather? ③What season is it? ④What are the people doing?
Ss talk about the countries, the weather, the seasons and the activities.
2. Ss make an interview in the class., and then give a report about.
3. Let’s find out. Find out what kinds of activities someone wants to do on certain days.

Ask the students to finish the following:

T:When I travel, I like to buy some beautiful postcards. I often write what I see and hear on the postcards and then I mail them to my friends. What about you? Do you like sending cards to your friends? Here are two guys who also send postcards to their frieds.
Ask the students to read the contents on the postcards and finish the task in 2b.
