Step 1 Review
     1.Say the names of animals you like, such as “dog, cat, fish, bird, panda, tiger”, etc.
     2.Answer the following questions:
1) What animals do you like...?
2) Is...your pet?
3) What’s its name?
4) Why do you like it?
5) What do you give it to eat?
Step 2 Presentation
     1.Talk about the picture in 1a and answer the questions:
1) What do you see in the picture?
2) What are they doing?
3) Has he got a pet?
4) What’s its name?
     2.Listen to the tape，then fill in the blanks in 1a and finish it.
     3.Listen to the tape and read 1a.
     4.Finish 1b according to 1a.
Step 3 Consolidation
     Discuss the animals you like in groups, then make a dialog to describe one of them and tell your feelings, according to 1c.You can do it like this:
     A: Do you keep pets?
B: Yes, I do.
A: What’s your pet?
B: It’s a dog.
A: Why do you like it?
B: Because it’s friendly.
A: How do you take care of it ?
B: I often give it some meat to eat and walk it after supper.
Step 4 Practice
     1.Practice the pattern “used to” in 2a. Students talk in groups. Say something about what they liked in the past and what they like now. Make sure “used to” is often used in the past. They can talk like these:
1)I used to... in the past / two years ago, but now I...
2)What did you use to...? But now what do you...?
     2.Work in groups. Let the students say something about their likes and dislikes.
Finish 2a.Review the following patterns:
1)I’m interested in/prefer/enjoy/love+ doing
2)I hate/ don’t like/don’t enjoy+ doing
Step 5 Practice
     1.Learn the Useful expressions by heart in 2b. Review Useful expressions in 2b.

4) He doesn’t mind whether... or not.
     2. Talk about the pictures and finish the sentences in 3, using “used to”
