Revision
Ask some questions, and then teach the questions on page 33, for example,
-How do you get to school?
-By bike.
-Why do you get to school that way?
-It’s good for our environment.
And teach the words in this lesson, such as, train, wheel, bicycle, ticket, etc.
Practice
Ask the students how they got to school this morning.
T: How did you get to school today? Did you walk, did you ride your bike, or did you take a bus?
S1: I walked.
S2: I rode my bike.
S3: I took a bus.
T: I see. You came to school in different ways. Let’s learn about the different ways of transportation in Unit 5.
Warm-up
Activity A
Ask the students to look at the picture and guess what each person is saying. Encourage them to fill in the blanks using the words in Words to Use.
T: There are some people in the picture. What kind of transportation do you see in this picture?
Ss: A bicycle, a bus, and a train.
T: Good. There you see four speech bubbles. Guess what each person in the picture is saying. Fill the blanks in the speech bubbles with the words given in Words to Use.
Activity B
Let the students unscramble the letters and write each unscrambled word in the right blank.
T: What do you think the proper word that fits the blank in No. 1 is?
S: Riding.
T: Correct. Can you spell the word?
S: r-i-d-i-n-g.
T: That’s right. Will you read the complete sentence?
S: Mike is riding the bus to the library.
When the students have finished filling in the blanks, have them read the completed sentences together.
T: Why don’t we read each complete sentence together?

Language to Know
Let the students take a look at Language to Know at the bottom of the page. Explain the situations in which the given expressions are used.
. No way.
T: This expression is used to emphasize that you will not agree or be able to do something.
. Of course not.
T: This expression is used to show that you do not accept or disagree with what someone has just said.
. It only takes fifteen minutes.
T: This expression is used to talk about the time needed for doing something.
Example: It may take twenty minutes to get there.
Activity A
Let the students listen to the dialogue and circle the correct answers.
T: It’s time for listening. Listen carefully and find out what the students are saying.
Words for frequency
The frequency adverbs such as always, usually, sometime, and never come after the auxiliary verbs and the be verb. These adverbs also comes after the rest of the verbs.
Answers: 1. never 2. usually 3. never 4. sometimes
Activity B
T: You are going to listen to the dialogue again. After listening, read the sentences and choose the correct answers.
Answers: 1. it is fast 2. it is fun 3. it rains
Activity C
Now, have the students work in pairs. Ask them to ask each other the questions given in C.

Practice asking and answering the way to some places.
Look at the picture. Ask how they get to places.
Listen to the material, share others’ information.
Listen again, check the correct answers.
