I.教学设计分析 Starter Unit 1 Good morning! 是预备篇三个单元的第一个单元。预备篇是为了使没有英语学习基础的学生更好地使用本套教材而编写的。本单元的基础内容为:学习Aa –Hh 8个字母,学习用“Good morning/afternoon/evening!”,“Hello/Hi”或“How are you”问候朋友,用“Fine, I’m OK.”来回答,了解以A-H 8个字母开头的8个人的名字。 II. Key points: 1. 能听、说、读、写字母Aa – Hh。 2. 能听、说本单元所学的日常交际用语,重点学会打招呼,并做到语音准确、语调正确。 Difficult point: 能熟练地运用基本的日常问候语。 II. 教学学时分配 Teaching periods: Period 1: 1a - 2e Period 2: 3a - 4d Starter Unit 1 Good morning! The First Period 1a-2e I. Teaching aims 1. Learn to read and write letters Aa - Hh. 2. Master the greeting sentences: Good morning. Hello/Hi! 3. Be able to greet each other. 4. Learn the meaning of some abbreviations. 5. Develop students’ interest in English. 6. Educate students to be polite. II. Key points 1. Learn to read and write letters Aa – Hh. 2. Be able to do greet each other using the sentences: Good morning/ afternoon/ evening. Hello/ Hi! Difficult point Be able to greet each other using the target language. III. Teaching aids Multimedia/A tape recorder/A blackboard IV. Teaching procedures Step 1 Warm-up 1. Greetings. T: Welcome to my class. I’m your new teacher, Miss Lin. What’s your name? Give students several minutes, and invite every students to stand up to do a self-introduction for the whole class. 2. Sing the song Good morning. Step 2 Presentation 1. Learn to make greetings. (1) Activity 1a. T: Look at the picture carefully and find out the answers to the following questions: What can you see in the picture? How many students are there in the picture? What are they doing? Then read the conversation. T: As we know, there are eight students in the picture. Who are boys, and who are girls? Write down their names to the lines. (2) Activity 1b. T: Now, I’ll play the tape of the conversation in the picture. Please listen carefully. Then, I’ll play it again for you to repeat. (3) Activity 1c. Ask students to practice the conversation in the picture in pairs. 2. Learn letters Aa – Hh. (1) Activity 2a. Show the 8 letters Aa – Hh on the screen, and teach students to read them one by one. Then play the tape. After that, invite some students to read these letters. (2) Activity 2b. T: Listen and number the letters you hear. (3) Activity 2c. Write the letters Aa – Hh on the blackboard. Then explain the writing forms of the capital letters and the small letters. Step 3 Practice 1. Activity 2b. Ask students to write letters Aa – Hh after the models. At the same time, ask one boy and one girl to write on the blackboard. 2. Activity 2e. Show the pictures in 2e on the blackboard. T: Do you know the meaning of the letters below each picture? T: Do you know any other abbreviations? Please list them out. Step 4 Consolidation 1. Pair work. Put students in pairs, and ask them to greet each other like this: S1: Hi! S2: Hello! S1: Good morning, S2. S2: Good morning, S1. 2. Show the cards of the eight letters in disorder, and ask students to read the letters one by one correctly. Step 5 Summary In this period, we’ve learned how to greet when we meet in the morning. And we’ve also learned how to read and write letters Aa – Hh, and some abbreviations. Step 6 Homework 1. Copy letters Aa – Hh three times. 2. Practice the conversation in the picture, and try to recite it. 3. Preview the next period. V. Blackboard design Starter Unit 1 Good morning! Master the new words: afternoon, evening, how, are, you, I, am, fine, thanks, OK 2. Master the greeting sentences: Good afternoon/ evening! How are you! I’m fine, thanks. / I’m OK. 3. Be able to greet each other. 4. Consolidate the eight names. 5. Train students to be polite and warm. II. Key points 1. Master the new words and expressions. 2. Be able to greet each other. Difficult point Be able to greet each other using the simple expressions. III. Teaching aids Multimedia/A tape recorder/A blackboard IV. Teaching procedures Step 1 Warm-up 1. Greetings. Greet all the students with “Hello, …” or “Good morning, …” using their English names. 2. Review. Show different letter cards and see if they can read them. First capital letters, and then small letters. Step 2 Presentation 1. Activity 3a. T: First, have a quick look at the three pictures in 3a. Then tell me what you can see in these pictures, and what they are doing. After students finish reading, play the tape for them to listen. Ask them to listen carefully and number the pictures according to the recording. 2. Activity 3b. Put students into pairs to practice the conversations in 3a. 3. Activity 3c. T: Now, we’ll listen to a short conversation. You should listen carefully with your book closed to see if you can understand it. After the listening, explain some language points. Finally, ask students to practice the conversation in pairs and try to recite it. 4. Activity 3d. T: First, look at the sample conversation in the box in 3d. Read it together. Then, choose an English name for yourself. Step 3 Practice 1. Activity 4a. T: Open your books, look at the pictures of them, and try to write down their names below each picture. 2. Activity 4b. T: Please look at the letters and words in the box. I’ll play the recording for you to listen and repeat. 4. Activity 4c. Leave students several minutes to read the letters and words in the box individually. Then invite some students to read for the whole class and explain the meanings of the new words. Step 4 Consolidation 1. Activity 4d. First, play the tape of the song, asking students to listen for the first time. Then play it again, ask students to repeat. Step 5 Summary In this period, we’ve learned how to greet each other in different situations. And we’ve also consolidated the names of the children. Step 6 Homework 1. Practice the conversation and recite it. 2. Preview the next unit. V. Blackboard design Starter Unit 1 Good morning!
