Lesson 45 Different Manners
┃教学整体设计┃
【教学目标】
1.掌握文中单词praise,modest,polite,though,embarrassed,adult并能熟练记忆。
2.掌握文中的重点短语和句型:
重点短语:be different from,be polite to,take turns,pay for
重点句型:
(1)It is not polite to ask an adult’s age.
(2)I have many good friends in Canada though Canadian culture is different from Chinese culture.
(3)They may take turns paying for the meal.
3.让学生掌握不同国家的不同风俗习惯,并比较他们的异同。
4.熟读课文,锻炼口语能力和交际能力。

重点:1.能够掌握重点的词汇和词组。
2.了解不同国家不同的风俗习惯。
难点:1.对重点句型的理解和应用。
2.对不同风俗习惯的学习。

教学过程
一、创设情境,切入主题
Step 1:Warming up
T:Hello,boys and girls.Nice to meet you!Today we are going to learn different manners,are you interested in foreign manners?
Ss:Yes!
T:OK!First,does anybody know some differences?
S:(stand up)They are not asking private things,while it is different in China.
T:Oh,that is very good.Thank you.
T:Anything else?
S:(stand up)They are not loud in public.Chinese is aloud sometimes.
T:All right.Very good.Let’s begin with the text.
设计意图:以老师和学生聊天的方式,从学生的生活常识入手,增加文章的吸引力,渲染课堂气氛,激发学生的学习兴趣。最主要的目的是引入本单元的话题manners,为接下来的学习做准备。
二、展开过程,探究新知
Step 2:Comprehensive whole text
1.Teacher explain the text sentence by sentence,help the students to understand the text better and give them a full understanding of the main sentences and phrases.
2.Let the students read the text aloud.Give them 5 minutes to remember the sayings and the main phrases.
3.Making sentences with the important phrase.For example:
be polite to—We should be polite to the eldership.
4.Do Exercise 3 on Page 119.
设计意图:锻炼学生的思考能力,同时培养学生的语感。让学生能抓住文中重点词汇和句型,善于归纳。
Step 3:Group work
Teacher divided the students into two groups,5 minutes later,each group send one to the platform.They will have a match that tell the different manners of China and Canada.The group which tells more will be the winner.

设计意图:此环节通过小组合作形式,操练、运用本节课的句型be doing something,自编小短文。为学生创建了成果展示的平台,并将本课所学知识点升华为贴近学生实际生活的语言交际,在教学的过程中极大地激发了学生的兴趣。
Step 4:Listening and reading
1.Listen and read after the video.
教师播放对话视频,播放一句,暂停一次,学生观看视频并跟读对话。
T:You have a good listening skill!Boys and girls,it’s our reading time,please read after the video and you should pay more attention to your pronunciation and intonation,try your best to imitate it,clear?
设计意图:通过学生观看生动活泼的对话视频并跟读,模仿,能提高学生的语感,提高对英语语音、语调的感悟力和用正确语音语调进行口语输出的能力。
2.Work in group of four to deal with the key words and phrases.
教师把学生分为四人一组,学生通过合作探究找出,画出大屏幕上出现的短语和句子。
T:This time,it’s your own reading time,please read and find the phrases and sentences on the screen in group of four,and after that we will come to the “Question Time”.
设计意图:学生应是学习的主体,教师要努力调动学生学习的积极性和主动性,通过组内合作讨论,探究,找出对话中的关键单词和短语,把所学的知识转化为学习能力。
3.Choose an excellent student to be a teacher to teach and control the “Question Time”.
教师以自身有点累为理由,指派一位优秀生来到讲台前代替自己充当教师的角色,领读,提问屏幕上的知识点。学生学习知识点。
T:I’m a little tired,I would like a volunteer to be a teacher to teach you,so who would like to have a try?
S1:I am.(The student comes to the front and works as a teacher)
S1:Hello,everyone.It’s my great honour to teach you.Please look at the key words and phrases,read after me,OK?
设计意图:此活动在任务的设计上加大了一定的难度,让学生充当老师,以适应优秀生的要求,使学生成为课堂真正的主人,学生教学生,学生可以更加的集中注意力于课堂的内容。
三、布置作业
(1)Write an article about the different manners of China and Canada.
(2)Review the main phrases.
