Unit 7 Where would you like to visit? (3) P56
Ⅰ.Teaching aims:
1. Remember the words on P56, such as: Ace Travel, eastern, provide, firm, spot, Confucius and so on.
2. Understand 3a and be able to choose the good place for people who want to go on vacation.
3. Love nature, love life.

Ⅳ.Teaching tools: Tape recorder, pictures, slide, etc.
Ⅴ.Teaching process:
Step 1 Warming up ( 5’)
One student makes a duty report about the place she would like to visit.
Other students answer five the questions about it.
理论依据:古希腊伟大学者柏拉图最早指出:“良好的开端是成功的一半”。
设计意图:报告的内容和本课题相关,一败涂地方面加强知识的学习和运用,另一方面,提高学生的口语和听力水平。
Step 2 Aims showing (1’)
Teacher shows the aims to the students after asking some questions, let them know what they will learn.
理论依据:叶圣陶先生指出:语言文学的学习,出发点在 “知”,而终极点在“行”。
设计意图:明确学习目标,使课堂学习更具目的性。
Step 3 Words and phrases study ( 8’)
1. The teacher shows the map of China, students try to find out the places of interest in the province and learn the new words and the phrases in 3a.
2. The students try to read the new phrases and sentences.
理论依据:苏霍姆林斯基说:让学生带着一种高涨的激动情绪,从事学习和思考,对目前所展示的真理感到震惊。
设计意图:在学习新课前就解决将会遇到的新单词和新句子,或新句型,有助解决文章学习的障碍。
Step 4 Presentations and practise (10’)
1. The teacher shows the pictures of Qufu, the Great Wall and the Stone Forest and asks: “Where would you like to go?” “Why?”
2. The students answer the questions and learn some sayings about the places of interest.
3. Students show the reasons for the places they choose using the adjective words.
理论依据:夸美纽斯说过“寻找并找出一种教学方法,使得教师因此可以少教,但是学生却可以因此多学。”
设计意图:用图片加上重点的句型,反复操练几次,解决重点句子的表达。
Step 5 Reading (10’)
1. Students read the passage, then find out the answers for the chart:What, where, who, when, why, how.
2. Listening practise.Teacher shows the passage, students listen to the tape, try to fill in the blanks.
3. Teacher shows six senteces, students tell true or false.
(1)The person has a lot of money to spend on the vacation.
(2)The person wants to relax and do nothing on vacation.
(3)The person is a man.
(4)The person has children.
(5)The person likes to swim.
(6)The person wants to go toanother country.

理论依据:《初中英语课程标准》明确指出:教材的“二次开发”,主要是指教师和学生在实施课程过程中,依据课程标准对既定的教材内容进行适度增删、调整和加工,合理选用和开发其他与教学有关的材料,从而使之更好地适应具体的教育教学情景和学生的学习需求。
设计意图:对于文章的理解,要讲究理解的方法,二次开发文章,用图表分解整篇文章,结构很清晰明了,也有助于学生学习这种写作方法。
Step 6 Oral practice (5’)
1. Teacher shows a situation, Students answer 3 questions and ask two questions.
角色: Mary和Mr.Smith
情景:Mr.Smith想带他太太和儿子去一个轻松的地方玩1天。有沙滩更好,他儿子很喜欢户外活动,尤其是在海边玩。坐汽车也行。价钱在1千元以内。
要求:请你充当菊城假期的接待员Mary(M)与Mr.Smith(S)进行交谈.
Question: (1)M: Where would you like to go on vacation?
(2)M: Who are you going with?
(3)M: How long would you like to be away?
Answer: (4)S: My son likes to do outdoor activities.
(5)S: Yes, we can.
2. Students say something about the main ideas about the situation, like:
Dear Mr. Smith,
Thanks for your calling. Next vacation, you want to go somewhere relaxing. You like the place where there are beaches, Because your son likes outdoor activities. Why not consider visiting Yangjiang. There are lots fantastic sights in Yangjiang, including Silvery beach. Taking bus there is special offer now. So, it just costs 88 one person. And the trip lasts one day. Here is my advice.

4. Teacher checks two students.
理论依据:《陶行知文集》第717页提到:集是“搜集”的集。集照篆字的写法,是这样“”,好象许多钩钩一样。我们研究学问有了中心题目,便要多多搜集材料,我们便象“集”篆写一样,用许多钩钩到处去钩,上下古今,左右中外的钩,前前后后,四面八方的钩,钩集在一起来,好细细研究。……我们有了丰富的材料,便可以源源本本的彻头彻尾的来研究它一个明明白白,才能够收得“水到渠成”的效力。
设计意图:学生的学习效果怎么样,就要看产出的结果怎样,从听说到读写到运用,一步一脚印,到生活的实际。
