Module 6 Entertainment Unit 2 He said it was on at the student cinema. 课型 Reading and writing 教学目标 Knowledge: To get information from the reading material about the film Pirates of the Caribbean; to understand the main idea of each paragraph of the article and some specific information about the film; to learn some new words Key vocabulary: fight, pirate, sail, ship, tonight, act, character, believable, lost, face, action, fighting, play, scene, romantic, funny, although, opinion, except, advise, ourselves, comment, in one’s opinion Key structures: Direct speech and indirect speech. Ability: (1). To get information from the reading material about the film Pirates of the Caribbean. (2). To understand the main idea of each paragraph of the article and some specific information about the film. Moral Education: To take active part in talking about the films. 教学重点 Direct speech and indirect speech. 教学难点 To get information from the reading material about the film Pirates of the Caribbean. 教学方法 PWP Communicative 教学用具 Multi-Media (or Tape recorder, OHP) 教学过程 Step 1 Revision 1. Help students to revise what is learnt in Period one of this module. Show them some pictures about the new words in last period. Have the Ss. spell them chorally and individually. 2. Revise the use of direct speech and indirect speech. E.g.: He said he was going to school. He said he watched music videos. He said he liked the one by… Step 2 Preparation Task 1 : Learn the new words. Directions: Label the pictures with the words. (1). Read through the words on the screen. Have the Ss. Repeat them after you. (2).Read the words separately and have them remember them. (3).Make some sentences with the words. (4) Call back the answers from the whole class. Task 2: Talk about the picture, saying which words you can use to describe it.. Directions: (1). Let the Ss look at the picture of Pirates of the Caribbean individually and then discuss with a partner : What do you think the film is about? Elicit some suggestions from the Ss, and note them on the board. Accept anything they give. (2). Pair the Ss to look at the video about the film. Step 3 Scanning and Skimming 1) Task: Read the passage and check the main idea of each paragraph. Directions: 1. The teacher asks the Ss to read the passage write the main idea of each paragraph. 2. Ss read the passage and write the main idea of each paragraph individually. 3. Call back the answers from the whole class. 2) Task: Read the passage and answer the questions in activity 4. Directions: 1. First make sure the Ss understand what they should do. Ss read the passage and do activity 4 on page 51 individually and check with a partner. 2. Call back the answers from the whole class, having one student ask and another answer. Step 4 Dealing with expressions: Step 5 Language use 1. Activity 6 on page 51 in the TB. Direction: Ss discuss in pairs. Then ask and answer in pairs. 2. Give the students some time to recall what they’ve learned in this class. Step 6 Homework: Retell the text. Step 7 A test: Exercise 12 on page 119 in the WB.
