They maythe lights and light candles. 他们可能灯,点燃蜡烛。(1)light既作名词“灯,电灯”,是可数名词,也作动词为“点燃”。例如:There are many colorful lights shining on the Christmas tree.圣诞树上有很多彩灯在闪烁。(2)light为动词,意为“点燃,点着”,其过去式及过去分词有两种形式:lightlitlit;lightlightedlighted。lighted常用于名词前作定语,相当于形容词。

(被动语态)作文是汤姆写的。过去分词(短语)作宾补:用在使役动词keep,have,get,make,leave和感官动词see,hear,feel,notice,find等后面作宾补。如:He went to bed,leaving the food on the desk untouched.桌子上的食物什么也没动,他就睡觉了。She was glad to see

12、 her children well taken care of.她非常高兴看到孩子们被照料得很好。过去分词(短语)作状语:表示时间、原因、条件、伴随情况或方式等。如:Given more time,we could have done it better.(表条件)多给点时间,我们会做得更好。Just then,a white-headed woman entered the hall,supported by a walking stick.(表方式)就在这时,一个白发老太进入了大厅,手里拄着拐杖。5. 17、Motorists should be severely punished for dangerous driving.危险开车的司机应受到惩罚。归纳:被动语态:(1)被动语态由“助动词be+及物动词的过去分词”构成。人称、数和时态的变化是通过be的变化表现出来的。现以teach为例说明被动语态在各种时态中的构成。一般现在时:am/is/are+taught一般过去时:was/were+taught一般将来时:will/shall be+taught现在进行时:am/is/are being+taught过去进行时:was/were+being+taught现在完成时:have/has bee

18、n+taught(2)被动语态的用法不知道或没有必要说明动作的执行者是谁。例如:Some new computers were stolen last night.一些新电脑在昨晚被盗了。(不知道电脑是谁偷的)This book was published in 1981.这本书出版于1981年。强调动作的承受者,而不强调动作的执行者。例如:The window was broken by Mike.窗户是迈克打破的。Eight hours per day for sleep must be guaranteed.每天8小时睡眠必须得到保证。8. He decides to change hi

19、s life and promises to be a better person.他决定改变他的生活,并许诺成为一个好人。(1)decide “决定,决心”,既作及物动词,也作不及物动词;名词形式为decision,构成make a decision=decide。这里是后跟不定式作宾语,也可跟“疑问词+不定式”作宾语。例如:He decided to give a one-man show.他决定唱一段独角戏。We havent decided when to start.我们还没决定何时动身。归纳decide用法:跟名词或代词:It is the people who decide th

20、e fate of mankind.决定人类命运的是人民。The question will be decided by themselves.问题将由他们自己决定。跟从句:Lets first decide where we should go. (=Lets first decide where to go.)我们先决定一下到什么地方去。It is not decided whether we will go there.还没有决定我们是不是去那儿。跟介词短语(跟on或upon,表示“就某事做出决定”):Dont decide on important matters too quickl

21、y.重要的事情不要匆忙做出决定。(2)promise作及物动词,“承诺,诺言”,既可跟不定式作宾语,也可跟从句作宾语。例如:Give me your promise that youll never be late again.答应我你绝不再迟到了。He promised to help us.他答应要帮助我们。I cant give you the book. Ive promised it to Susan.我不能把这本书给你。我已经答应给苏珊了。归纳promise构成短语:make a promise许下诺言;keep ones promise保守诺言break ones promise

22、打破诺言,说话不算数promise sb. to do sth.答应某人做某事9. He now treats everyone with kindness and warmth,spreading love and joy everywhere he goes.他现在对待每一个人都很友善和热心,把爱和快乐传递到他去的每一个地方。(1)warmth作名词,意思为“温暖;暖和”,其形容词形式为warm。拓展:加后缀th,变为名词的词:true真实的truth真理,真情;wealthy富裕的wealth财富;grow生长growth生长(2)spread作动词,意为“传播;展开;蔓延”,在这里是用

23、分词形式作状语。如:He sat by the roadside,begging.他坐在路边乞讨。拓展:现在分词还可作:现在分词单独作定语,通常放在所修饰词前。例如:The sleeping boy is Tom.那个熟睡的孩子是汤姆。现在分词短语作定语放在所修饰词的后面,意思同定语从句差不多。例如:Tell the children playing outside not to make too much noise.=Tell the children who are playing outside not to make too much noise.告诉外面玩耍的孩子们不要太吵闹。现在

24、分词作表语多表示主语的特征。如amusing,discouraging,puzzling,refreshing,astonishing,exciting等。例如:The story is moving.这个故事很动人。现在分词作状语,其逻辑主语一般是句中的主语。例如:He died,leaving nothing but debts.他去世了,留下的只有债务例1 Although Lucy is only three years old,she is able to _ herself.A. put B. make C. wear D. dress【解析】考查易混动词的辨析。A项表示“放”,B
