Step1. Lead-in
This is Kitty. Her hair is long. She loves dancing.
This is Amy. She has short hair. She is good at swimming.
This is LiHua. He is a new member of Huanghe Football Club. He looks strong and plays football very well.
u Look at these sentences. Pay attention to the verbs. We use the verb “to be” in some sentences while we use the verb “to do” in others.
Step2. Presentation
---plays basketball very well. Many students like him. They often watch his games on TV. In my free time, I like watching TV too. But my ---likes reading. He/She often reads storybooks.------
u We use the simple present tense when we talk about:
Things that we often do
Hobbies or abilities
Things that are always true
u When the subject is he/she/it, we need to add an “s” to the verb.
You must know how to add an “s” to the verb. Let’s read the table on page 23 together.
