Lesson 33: 2800 Years of Sports一、 教材分析本单元主要是围绕奥运会和世界纪录来展开话题，通过本单元的学习，使学生了解有关奥运会的发展历史和世界纪录的相关情况，乐于接触并了解异国文化。在学习过程中，应该让学生能够对自己感兴趣的人物或事件，勇敢地用英语表达自己的看法，感受奥运健儿和世界纪录的创造者那种努力拼搏、不断超越自己的精神。Lesson 33主要是介绍奥运历史，让学生了解现代奥运是如何逐步形成的。在学习过程中，要让学生了解古代奥运和现代奥运的不同，学会对不同事物进行比较。1教学重点：让学生了解奥运发展历史2教学难点：如何引导学生描述在中国奥运史上的重要人物二、教学目标： 1 语言知识：掌握词汇： spirit接触词汇： BC, athlete, compete, Olympia, married, host, Olympic, amazed, represent短语 ： compete against , every four years, Good point, take place, be amazed at 2 语言技能：通过本课的学习培养学生综合运用语言的能力，有效提高学生听说及阅读能力。3 情感态度：让学生通过本课的学习，了解奥运发展历史以及古代奥运和现代奥运的不同，拓展知识面，培养学生爱国情怀。4 学习策略：通过听力练习、小组活动来完成听说及阅读的训练。三、教学准备教师准备：多媒体课件、录音机、磁带 四、教学步骤Step 1 Free Talk （about 3 min）Ask : Danny had fun with his class records. Did you have fun with yours ? Get the students to talk about their class records .【设计思路】：复习巩固上节课所学知识，让学生在谈论班级记录的过程中提高运用语言的能力。Step 2 Leading in （about 2 min）Ask: When we talk about the world records, we usually think of the Olympics. What do you know about the Olympics?【设计思路】：引入新课，激发学习兴趣。Step 3 Presentation ( about 5 min )Show some pictures and ask questions, get the students to answer the questions and understand the meanings. Then have a test.【设计思路】：用图片新授单词，让学生可以对形象生动的画面产生深刻的印象，激发学习兴趣，调动多种感官参与学习活动，更好地理解单词意思以及在语境中的用法，并及时检测巩固。Step 4 Listening （about 4 min）Play the tape, get the students to listen and fill in the blanks.After listening, check the answers. Why?Get the students to write down a short passage about their ideas.
