Software for server computer:
We must follow the server's function to choose the software. The most common software are operation system, antivirus and firewall.
Operation system: Generally choose windows server version.
Antivirus and firewall: They are usually sold as product portfolio, the main anti-virus / firewall brands are: Kaspersky, McAfee, Norton, NOD32, and etc.
Others:
If the software which hisoft developed based on b/s (browse/server) structure, We also need to install IIS (windows components provided by Microsoft) on the server computer. If the software use java language, Tomcat (provided by Apache) must be installed.
In addition, depends on different functions of server computer, there will be other software. For example: Database servers require database software like Oracle or sql server or mysql etc.; file servers require software like SERVER-U for FTP function and Document management software…
So far, we need to know the application of server computer from OMSC and Hisoft, in order to further determine which specialized software to choose.
Data Backup：
Obviously，with IT technology has been wildly used , data is increasingly becoming a hub of social production and an important part of the enterprise. Therefore, to make sure data's completeness is becoming very important.

System backup and file (data) backup:
1. File backup face to important files, such as: system files, documents, records, images, videos, and progress. Those copy files could be saved in a storage space. When data is corrupted or missed, we can restore the copy files to the backup time status.
2. Database backup face to those data which in database and logs of database.
According to the Endoworks price table, we know they used RAID 5 (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) on Endoworks. Data backup can be achieved through RAID 5(by Disk Mirroring or Disk duplexing function) to read and write data to two disks simultaneously. Therefore, when we meet those problems, such as magnetic head damage, disk damage and etc., we can recover those important data immediately
Of course, there also have some software, for example: Symantec backup system(including BackupExec, System Recovery, Netbackup )
Database backup:
Database (Oracle database) usually has two kinds of backup way.
1. Cold Backup: When we close the application of database, we can use Oracle specific function to export a backup file from the Oracle. The disadvantage is that the operation has to close the service of Oracle at first, which means we could not write or read any data when we do the backup work, so cold backup must be happened at night. Therefore, we cannot catch a copy file at the Oracle working time.
2. Warm Backup: This backup way need not to stop the database service, so we can get a copy every minute. To achieve this function we can use the function which Oracle supplied (In order to run this oracle function better, maybe we need some script code which written by Hisoft engineers to control it ) or may be we can use software, for example: Veritas Replication Exec 3.1.

19、系统保护：内窥镜工作站软件提供克隆软件的批处理文件，输入几个字母即可备份和恢复C盘，生产公司可以以此为基础制作恢复光盘，用户系统意外损坏时可以插入光盘设为光盘引导，直接恢复出厂时的系统，大大节约了维护费用。

1． Protection of electric power: The software save current patient’s information in a temp folder. When unexpected power failure or other unexpected shutdown, those unsaved information files can be recovered. This method is very good.
2． Protection of data: All database files and setting files of this software are installed on the Dist D. Every time you start the software will automatically backup your current database. When a database error was found, you can restore those files at the setting interface of the software. This method can only restore the files at a time point, when the software has been used for 2-3 hours and then catch a problem, they will loss information of last 2-3 hours
3． Protection of System: Software apply batch file of cloning software. You can type a few letters to back up and restore the C drive. Base on this, the production company can make a recovery CD. The user can insert this CD , follow the CD boot and restore factory direct system, when they meet accidental damage of the system.
