My Experience of Seeing a Doctor
The other day when school was over, it suddenly rained hard. I still rode my bike home in spite of the heavy rain. After dinner, I felt dizzy and coughed. I thought I might get a cold because I had been caught in the rain. Therefore, Mom took me to a hospital in the neighborhood. When it was my turn, a nurse took my temperature to see if I had a high fever. And then the doctor checked my mouth and throat. Later, he asked me some questions about the symptoms I had, gave me a shot, and wrote a prescription for me. He also bade me to take more rest so that I might recover from the flu as soon as possible. While staying in the hospital, I heard some patients crying loudly with physical pain. Others were lying on the bed, unable to move around. And still others were facing hopelessly the terrible death. At the sight of the sad scenes, I finally realized that nothing was more important than health. Fortunately, I regained my health. From the bitter experience, I have realized that health is of great importance. Once it is spoiled, it is hard to restore it. Therefore, we should cherish our health as much as we can.

The most difficult moment in my life happened when I had just turned 12. That year, I transferred to a new school because my family moved to Taichung. Very soon, my parents found out I was keeping bad company because my grades went from bad to worse, and my teachers informed them of my frequent absences from school. My father started to keep an eye on me. He drove me to school and picked me up after classes. It was tough in the beginning, but my gang eventually realized that it was too much trouble having me in their group. They give up on me, which was a blessing in disguise. Thinking back, I am very grateful to my parents for coming to my aid at that critical moment.

An Unlucky Day
When I got up this morning, I had a strange feeling that it just wasn’t going to be my day. First because I got up late, I missed breakfast. Then, as I was dashing to the bus stop to catch my bus, I stepped on a banana peel, slipped and fell on my backside.
To make things worse, the bus didn’t stop for me because it was packed. I had no choice but to take a taxi. Not until the taxi got to my school did I realize I had left my wallet at home. After I did a lot of explaining and apologizing, the driver let me go. Finally, I arrived at the school gate. To my astonishment, I suddenly realized it was a school holiday. It never rains but it pours.
