Write “jobs” on the Bb and ask the students to list all the jobs and write the jobs students mention on the Bb. Try to include the new words of unit4 in the list: actor, assistant, shop assistant, reporter, policeman, waiter, bank, clerk, nurse. Try to add some simple sentences like: It’s fun. It’s a good job. 2. Point to the list of jobs and ask Ss to repeat. Step Two A Guessing game : What do I do? This game can be done in two Ss. One student makes a gesture without any sounds and the other student guesses what he/she does. A: What do I do? B: Are you a worker? A: Yes, I am. / No, I’m not. If one job can be easily guessed out, the teacher can give every pair one minute and have a competition. Let’s see which pair can guess out the most jobs. Step There Talk about the picture 1. Show the picture in (1a) and make a dialogue like this: What does he do? He’s a reporter.(1c) 2. Listen and number the people 1-3 in the picture above. (1b) Step Four Make a surkey and a report. (Every S ask one classmate) Who job want to be 1. What does your father do? What does your mother do? What do you want to be? 2. Make a report like this: Tom’s father is a teacher. Tom’s mother is a teacher, and Tom wants to be a bank clerk. Step Five Listening comprehension 1. Talk about the three pictures in 2a. 2. Listen the first time and number the pictures in 2a. 3. Listen again and fill in the chart. 4. Ask and answer questions about the pictures in 2a. What does Ann’s mother do? She’s a bank clerk. What does she want to be? She wants to be a policeman. Step Six Homework Fill in the blank, Ask your parents and two friends and make a report. Who job Wants to be Period Two Step One Check the homework of yesterday Ss can give a report of the chart: My father is a doctor. But he wants to be a report. My mother is a teacher. But she wants to be a doctor. My friend Ann wants to be a teacher. It’s a good job. Step Two Interview Let Ss ask the student who gives the report. Where does your father work? What does he do every day? (If the reporter can’t answer, never mind) Step three Guess the riddles. What do I do? Give five riddles in 3a and explain the new words. Step Four Try to write some job riddles like the examples given in 3a and let others guess what the jobs are. Step Five Draw a picture of someone at work. Ss ask some questions and guess the job and see who can guess out the most quickly. Step Six Homework Write three job riddles on the exercise book . Period Three Step One Make a competition Four students a group. Write the jobs as many as possible on a piece of paper . See which group gets the most. Step Two 1. Reed the riddles that they write as their homework and guess what job it is. 2. What do you think of the job? It’s boring/fun/busy/difficult/exciting /dangerous/easy/happy. Step Three Show the pictures in 1a of Section B. Talk about the pictures with the abjectives in 1a. Step Four Make a surkey Name Want to be Why Ask the other Ss in your group what do you want to be? Why? Step Five Make a report like this: Talk about your friend and yourself. My friend Lucy wants to be a policewoman. Because she can wear nice uniform.Thieves are afraid of her. It’s a dangerous job but exciting. I want to be a doctor. Because doctors can keep people healthy. It’s a busy job. Step Six 1. Listen to the recording and fill in the blanks in 2a. 2. Listen again and answer the questions. What does Betty/Jenny/Sam want to be? Why? Step Seven Homework 1. Describe the job of your father’s or mother’s. 2. Tell us what you want to be and the reasons. Period Four Step One Show Ss many photos of some famous people.Talk about the photos like this: Who’s that? That’s Bill Gates. What does he do? He is a businessman and a computer engineer. Where does he work? He works in a compary. What do you want to be, a businessman or a doctor? I want to be a businessman. Why? Because I like making more money and it’s fun. Step Two Write the newspaper want ads. 1. While the Ss do step one. T write some key points near the job. For example: Policeman: Catch thieves, wear uniform, busy, dangerous, exciting. Waiter: Work late, meet people in a restraurant. 2. Show some examples of ads in 3a and fill in the blanks what jobs they are. 3. Do 3b in pairs. 4. Try to imitate one like the above ads in four students. Try to make the ad as beautiful as possible and put it on the Bb when finish. Step Three Divide the class into two parts. One part of students act as the person who wants a clerk or a partner, but the other part of students act as the person who is looking for a job. Make up a dialogue between two students. Let’s see who gets an employee or a partner and who finds a job. Step Four Homework Write a job ad for a newspaper.
