M7U1 New York is in the east.
教学目标:
(1)知识与技能目标:
1、能听懂、会说、会读表示方向的名词:east,west 和America,the USA三个城市的名称:New York San Francisco Washington D.C ,以及country speak等9个新词。
2、能听懂、会说、会读句型:It’s in the east/ west. New York is in the east.
(2)认知目标:
1、谈论国家和它们的首都:Washington D.C is the capital of the USA.
2、能够用两个表示方向的词来谈论城市的位置。
(3)情感和策略目标:
通过对本课的学习, 让学生了解有关美国的一些知识,培养他们跨文化意识和国际视野。
通过引导学生参与游戏、竞争等丰富多彩的教学活动,培养学生的有意记忆和创造能力,激发学生的学习兴趣和积极思维的能力,培养学生的合作精神和竞争意识。
通过情景交际活动,培养学生用英语进行交际能力。
教学重点:
1、能听懂、会说、会读east west country speak city等11个词 。

运用学过的单词、句型正确地表述城市的位置。

通过多媒体课件的巧妙使用,运用直接法、形象法、情景法、交际法、全身反应法等教学方法
教学过程:
Step 1: Warming up
a. Greeting: Hello boys and girls, nice to see you again. How are you?
b. Show some pictures about England:
T: Now, let’s see some pictures. What are they? Buckingham Palace, River Thames, Big Ben, Hyde Park, Tower Bridge.
T: Do you know where they are?
S: They are in London.
T: Yes. London is the capital of England.
(通过课件,展示伦敦几个著名景点的图片,引出伦敦和英国的信息。)
Step 2: Presentation (新授内容)
1.Leading:
T: Great! You know England is a country. China is a country. Do you know the other country?
Let’s see and guess this country: <It’s a map of this country. It’s the flag of this country. And look, who is he? Yao Ming plays basketball in it. Do you know what the country is?> (边呈图片边解说,加强学生对美国的感性认识,最后猜测出America, 屏幕上出现America, 学生跟读)
2.呈现任务:
T: Excellent. Today, our friend, Daming is introducing his project to Sam. It’s about America.(教学project)Today let’s walk around America,learn something about America. OK? (OK!)
3.Listen and point.(带两个问题,整体感知)
(1)Learn to say : America & the USA
T: America has two names. Do you know the other name?
It`s also called .(the USA) (课件出示句子进行操练)
(2)Learn to say: speak
T: In the USA, people speak Chinese or English?
People speak in America.
(引导People speak England./ People speak Chinese in China)
4.Listen again,Learn to say: New York, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.,east,west
T: In America, there are some cities. Today Daming brings three to us. Do you know what they are?(生回答,教学三个城市)
Look at these pictures and guess (课件出示三个城市的相关图片猜城市)
如,T: What`s the city?Can you guess?
Ss: It’s Washington D.C. (师引导教学城市)
London is the capital of England.What about Washington D.C.?Washington D.C. is the capital of the USA.
T:Where is Washington D.C.?
(指黑板地图问:Is it here?贴图确定城市地点,也可请声上台贴,加强互动)
S: It’s in the east.(教学east)
(在老师引导的基础上,同法教学另外两个城市和west)
5. Listen again ,underline the sentence about “east or west”, and try to repeat.(抓重点巨型,突出掌握重点;本课句型较长,鼓励学生挑战)
Step3: Consolidation:
1.”Go go game”: (通过游戏的形式复习巩固所学的新单词。)
T:It`s game time now.Who would like to come here?Listen carefully.
T:Go ,go,go to the east/west(生走方向),where is ……?
Ss:He/She is in the east/west.
2.Find citise:(完成任务:帮几个新朋友找城市)
T: Today,Miss Zhan bring you some friends.They are Lily,Lala……. It`s their first travel to China. Can you help them find these four cities?
(创设情景,中文解释, 看课件,引导一组生答)
T:Where is Lily going?
S:Lily is going to go to ……
T: Where is ……?
S:It`s in the east/west.
(小组活动操练,运用活动用书P27)
3.What’s the meaning of this sign?
(课件上出示方位图标,学生很容易用汉语说出四个方向,引入下节课内容:南北,指导预习)
Step 5 Summary
Today, we have learnt something about America.We’ve learnt three cities ,four directions and a new drill.
Step 6: Homework
1. Introduce the cities about America to your family. (向你的家人介绍美国及美国城市)
2. Listen and follow the tape three times.(听录音跟读课文3遍)

(在作业的设计上,让孩子们将课堂上的活动延伸到了课堂之外,通过向爸爸、妈妈介绍美国的方式来巩固所学知识,将英语用到生活中;并让学生养成收集资料的习惯。)
