Translation of Tourism Materials
1、 这儿的峡谷又是另一番景象：谷中急水奔流，穿峡而过，两岸树木葱茏，鲜花繁茂，芳草萋萋，活脱脱一幅生机盎然的天然风景画。各种奇峰异岭，令人感受各异，遐想万千。
It is another gorge through which a rapid stream flows. Trees, flowers, and grass, a picture of natural vitality, thrive on both banks. The weird peaks arouse disparate thoughts.

2、当你步入沟中，便可见林中碧海生辉，瀑布洒碧玉。仲春，树绿花艳。盛夏，湖山幽翠。一到金秋，满山枫叶绛红。……四时都显现出它的天然原始，宁静幽深。
Sparkling lakes and waterfalls captivate your eyes as you enter the ravine. There are green tress and colorful flowers in spring. In summer, tints of green spread over the hills and lakes. As summer merges into autumn, the maple trees turned fieryred through the thick forest hills… Tranquility pervades primitive Jiuzhaigou throughout the year.

3、巫峡两岸，群山相拥，云遮雾绕，奇峰异岭隐没其间，宛如仙境。景色最妙要数巫山十二峰，而犹以神女峰独具神韵。巡游于此恍若漫步大自然的艺术画廊，美不胜收。
On both banks of the Wu Gorge are mist-covered fairyland-like mountains and grotesque peaks. The most marvelous scene here is the twelve peaks and, in particular, Goddess Peak. To cruise here is like wandering in a natural art gallery.

4、湛蓝的海水澄澈见底，微波荡漾中可见水底鱼群无数，珊瑚虹彩生辉，闪动着一片绚烂的色彩，生机勃勃，气象万千。大海也随着潮汐变幻着色彩，时而翠绿，时而碧蓝，展现出一个迷人的绮丽世界。
Crystal clear water rippled with myriad fish and iridescent corals like a kaleidoscope of living colours. It’s an enchanting world where the ocean turned from emerald to aquamarine with the changing tides.

5、峡内重峦叠嶂，连绵不尽，奇峰异岭，高插入云，云雾弥漫，迷幻莫测。
On both sides of the gorge there are range upon range of rolling mountains. Everywhere you can see cliffs and peaks of unique shapes towering into the clouds. The mist and clouds add an aura of mystery to the natural beauty.

6、她（黄河）奔腾不息，勇往直前，忽而惊涛裂岸，势不可挡，使群山动容；忽而安如处子，风平浪静，波光潋滟，气象万千。
It tears and boils along turbulently through the mountains and, at some place, flows on quietly with a sedate appearance and glistening ripples.

7、上海某年桂花节有这样一篇文字介绍：“满树金花，芳香四溢的金桂；花白如雪，香气扑鼻的银桂；红里透黄，花多味浓的紫砂桂；花色似银，季季有花的四季桂，竞相开放，争妍媲美。进入桂花公园，阵阵桂花香扑鼻而来。”
The Park of Sweet Osmanthus is noted for its profusion of osmanthus. Flowers in different colours pervade the whole garden with their fragrance.

8、人们可沿岩壁凿出的石径走过峡谷，也可从某处乘橡皮舟划过水潭。满山巨石怪崖，更有深潭碧水，悬崖上多处瀑布骤然跌落，直下峭壁。当地人讲，这里夏季凉爽宜人，冬秋温暖如春，生活在此如居天上人间。
People can pass through the gorge by walking along the stone path cut from the rock wall, or at some place can row across the pools in rubber boats. Everywhere you can see huge rocks and grotesque cliffs, clean water in deep pools, and from precipices waterfalls abruptly fall down. The local people say, it’s cool and nice here in summer and as warm as spring in winter, so living here is as if living in a fairyland.

9、春雨降临，漫坡的野花遍布座座山腰；低洼处小黄花成千上万竞相开放；更有蓝色的腾纳霓花，把草地也随之抹染得一片湛蓝。
Spring rain comes with a mass of wild flowers covering the slopes of every hill, where thousands of small yellow flowers in the lowlands compete in bloom and other blue flowers later turned the grasslands into blue.

10、张家界以水显幽。这里，石缝间的山泉，幽谷中的潜流，汇成五条溪流、四处白沙泉水、两处悬岩飞瀑，蜿蜒曲折，东流而下，与红岩绿树相辉映，构成一幅天然的山水画。
Zhangjiajie is tranquil with its water. Springs gush out of crevices and brooks flow through the valleys to converge into five streams, four white sand pools and two tumbling waterfalls, meandering down eastward between reddish rocks and green trees to form a scroll of landscape painting.

11、这里3000座奇峰拔地而起，形态各异，有的似玉柱神鞭，立地顶天；有的像铜墙铁壁，巍然屹立；有的如晃板垒卵，摇摇欲坠；有的若盆景古董，玲珑剔透……神奇而又真实，迷离而又实在，不是艺术创造胜似艺术创造，令人叹为观止。
3000 crags rise in various shapes. They are like whips or pillars propping up the sky; or huge walls, solid and sound; or immense eggs piled on an unsteady board; or miniature rockery or curios… Fantastic but actual, dreamy but real! They are not artistic works, but more exquisite than artistic works. One can not help marveling at the acme of perfection of Nature’s creation.

12、在四川西部，有一美妙去处。它背倚岷山主峰雪宝顶，树木苍翠，花香袭人，鸟声婉转，流水潺潺。这就是松潘县的黄龙。
One of the finest scenic spots in western Sichuan is Huanglong (Yellow Dragon), which lies in Songpan County just beneath Xuebao, the main peak of Mt. Minshan，filled with lush green forests, fragrant flowers，bubbling streams, and sweet song of birds.

13、岛上绿树葱茏，果林成荫，一丛接一丛的橄榄树、柠檬树和松树覆盖全岛，环境凉爽宜人。一到春天，这遍岛花果成片开放，香气袭人。
The island, covered by groves of olive, lemon and pine trees, is overgrown with a green and shady forest filled with cool air. In spring, all flowers and fruits in the forest are blooming in mass with a striking fragrance over the island.

14、就四川的名山秀水而言，总有它们各自的独特风格和个性。如峨眉山的“秀”，青城山的“幽”，剑门关的“险”，夔门的“雄”。
In Sichuan Province, each scenic spot has its own distinctive features: the beauty of Mount Emei, the tranquility of Mount Qingcheng, the precipitousness of Jianmen Pass, and the grandeur of Kuimen.

迪庆――美丽的香格里拉
迪庆藏族自治州位于滇西北，云南、西藏、四川三省交界处，迪庆，藏语意为吉祥如意的地方，以藏族为主体的8个兄弟民族世代生息繁衍在这片广袤的土地上。这儿就是传说中美丽的香格里拉。
这里不仅民族风情浓郁，同时还是一片具有生命灵气的宝地，草原广阔，山环水饶。屹立于迪庆西北，终年雪冠冰氅、云缠雾罩的梅里雪山主峰卡瓦格博，海拔6740米，是迪庆的最高点，也是云南第一峰。长江巨龙用身体在这片土地上切出了一条世界最深的峡谷——虎跳峡，那暴跳的急流没有一丝绿色，唯有生命的呼吸在沉重的隆隆声中诉说着什么；在与虎跳峡一山之隔的地方，一湾清澈的湖水从山谷流泻而下，水中矿物质的常年沉积形成了一片200多平方米的地质奇观，当地人们称它“白水台”。
近年来，随着旅游业的发展，迪庆也开始吸引大批游客，游人对这里的多民族文化及美丽景色深感兴趣。

Diqing : Beautiful Shangri-la
Lying in the northwest of Yunnan Province, the Diqing Zang( Tibet ) Autonomous Prefecture is a place where three provinces meet ─ Yunnan, Xizang ( Tibet ) and Sichuan. “ Diqing ” means “ good fortune as one wishes for ” in the Tibetan language. There are eight national minorities living on this vast expanse of land generation after generation. Among them the Zang nationality accounts for the majority of the population. That is where legendary Shangri-la is located.
The Prefecture is rich in the local colors of national minorities and scenic landscapes. There one can see vast expanse of grasslands and lofty mountains with rivers and streams running through them. The snow-capped and mist-shrouded kavagebo peak ─ the dominant peak of Meili Mountain range in the northwest of Diqing stands aloft 6740 meters above the sea level, the highest peak in Diqing and in Yunnan Province as well. The Yangtze River, like a dragon cutting the mountains with its body, runs through them in the great canyon named “ the Jumping Tiger ” ─ the deepest canyon in the world. Not a trace of green can be seen in the violent torrents, but the heavy rumbles can be distinctly heard ─ the sound of life as if telling one its stories. Separated by a mountain from the Jumping Tiger Canyon, the water from a crystal-clear lake rushes down a valley, the mineral deposit in the water forming a terrace of 200 square meters ─ a geological wonder called “ the White Water Terrace ” by the local people.
With the development of tourism in recent years, Diqing has begun to attract large numbers of tourists, who are especially interested in its multi-nationality cultures and unique natural beauty.
