一般过去时及新课一
（一）一般过去时：
主要表示过去发生的行为，状态，习惯或已死去的人的情况，这些情况可能只发生过一次，也可能是习惯性的。
be动词一般过去时的构成及用法：动词be有was，were两个过去式，was用于第一、三人称单数，were用于其他人称。
这个时态的三种结构可表示如下：

肯定句
否定句
疑问句
动词
be
I（He , She）was there .
We（You , They）were there .
I（He , She）was not there .
We（You , They）were not there .
Was I（he , she）there ?
Were you（we , they）there ?
注：was not = wasn’t were not = weren’t
was , were不能与主语构成缩写形式。
例：
A. Tom is here today , but he was at home yesterday . 汤姆今天到了，可昨天他在家里。
B. My brother often gets home early , but he was late last night .
我哥哥常常很早到家，但昨晚他却回家晚了。
C. —Was your mother a doctor before ? 你妈妈以前当过医生吗？
—Yes , she was . / No , she wasn’t . 是的，她以前当过医生。/ 不，她以前没当过。
D. —Were they here with you this morning ? 今天上午他们和你在这儿吗？
—Yes , they were . / No , they weren’t . 是的，他们在。/ 不，他们不在。
E. —Were there any classes at school yesterday ? 昨天学校里上课了吗？
 —Yes , there were some . / No , there weren’t any . 是的，上课了。/ 不，没课。

（二）一般过去时句子中经常出现表示过去的时间状语：
如：
1. just now 刚才
Just now Xiao Li came to see you . 刚才小丽来找你。
2. never 从不
I never met such an active boy . 我从未碰见过这样淘气的孩子。
3. ever 曾经
Did you ever hear such a thing ? 你听见过这样的事吗？
4. ago 以前
用在一个表示一段时间的词或短语。
They came here two weeks ago . 他们是两个星期以前来的。
We began our class about ten minutes ago . 我们大约十分钟前开始上课的。（不能说……before）
5. before
用来表示在某个时间点之前。
We began our class before eight o’clock . （不能说eight o’clock ago）
我们八点前开始上课的。
6. last 上一次，最近一次
When did you see him last ? 你最近见到他是什么时候？
last year去年 last Sunday上周日 last week上星期
7. yesterday昨天
the day before yesterday 前天
What day was it yesterday ? 昨天星期几？
8. in the past从前
She was a nurse in the past . 她从前是一个护士。
9. at that time那时
At that time , Peter was four years old . 那时，彼得4岁。
注：如果是一般动词则用于过去进行时
I was watching TV at that time last night . 我昨晚那时正在看电视。

（三）学习新课
Unit 1 How was your holiday ?
Lesson 1
School begins . The students come back to school . How was their holiday ? Did they enjoy themselves ? （开学了。学生们返回学校。他们的假期怎么样？他们玩得愉快吗？）
Gao Wei：Hi , Kate . How was your holiday ?（你好，Kate，你假期如何？）
Kate：It was fantastic ! I went to Hainan with my parents .（很奇异！我和父母去了海南。）
Gao Wei：Did you have a good time ?（你们玩得愉快吗？）
Kate：Sure ! We went to visit Sanya . We saw many banana trees , cocont trees and flowers there . It’s a beautiful city . We like it very much . Do you want to go there , too ?（当然！我们去了三亚。我们在那里看见许多香蕉树，椰子树和花。那是一座美丽的城市。我们非常喜欢它。你也想去那里吗？）
Gao Wei：Of course . I will go there in summer .（当然。我将在夏天去。）
Kate：That’s great !（那太好了！）

I spent the Spring Festival in Beijing .（我在北京度过春节。） I was very happy . （我非常高兴）I watched TV on the eve of the Spring Festival .（除夕夜我看了电视。）The TV programmes were very interesting and exciting .（电视节目非常有趣并且令人兴奋。）I ate jiao zi that night .（那晚，我吃了饺子。） They were delicious .（他们非常美味可口。） I like jiao zi .（我喜欢饺子。） I like the Spring Festival .（我喜欢春节。） I like China .（我喜欢中国。）
