T:   What ’ s the date today?
S1:   It ’ s June 6th.
T:   When is your birthday, ××?
S1: It ’ s May 18th.
T:   How did you celebrate your birthday?
S1: I had a birthday party. I celebrated it with my friends. They gave me some presents.
T:   Do you know when my birthday is? Guess.
S1:   December 1st.
S2:   November 11th.
S3:   ...
T:   My birthday is on lunar October 12th. I hope I can celebrate my birthday with you.

T: There are a lot of festivals. To celebrate them, we eat some special foods and take part in some specical activities. Please listen to the tape, read the passage carefully, and fill in the chart.

T: I want to divide you into four groups. Try to answer the questions. The group which answers the most questions is the best group.

T: What food do Chinese people eat on Spring Festival?
S: Dumplings.
T: How do people celebrate it?
S: Perform lion and dragon dances.

S3: Thanksgiving is on the 4th Thursday in November. Families get together for a big dinner. People eat roast turkey and potatoes.
S4: Latern Festival is on lunar January 15th. People eat sweet dumplings. People watch the lantern show and guess riddles.

T: We eat dumplings and perform lion and dragon dances to celebrate Spring Festival. We also can eat other things on this day. And we can celebrate in other ways. For example: We eat red eggs, rice and noodles. And we wear new clothes. Please tell me the o ther ways to  celebrate Spring Festival.
 S1: We eat oranges.
S2: We eat rice cakes.
S3: We visit friends.
T: How about the other festivals?
S1: Sing Christ songs on Christmas.
S2: Send cards.
  Step 4  Practice   第四步  练习（时间: 8分钟）
1.（播放2的听力,让学生将所听到的内容填到空格上。）
T: Please open your books at Page 94, listen and fill in the blanks in 2.
2.（核对答案,并让学生跟读。）
T: Please listen to the tape again and check the answers. And then repeat.
3.（检查学生是否能记住所学到的节日名称,采取游戏机制,将全班分成4小组,每组的第一个学生只报一个节日名称,之后的学生必须说出前面的节日名称,并且再说一个新的名称。看哪一组说全10个节日,并用时最少组为优胜组。）
T: Please say the name of festivals. The first student says a name. The following students must  repeat the names that have been said, and add a new one. The group uses the shortest time is the best group.

S: April Fool ’ s Day.

1.（让学生表演一些节日的庆祝活动动作,让班级的其他学生根据动作,说出其节日名称及相关活动。）
T: I want a student to perform an action about a festival. Please guess what festival it is. And tell us something about the festival.

T: What festival is it?
S: It ’ s Spring Festival.
T: How do people celebrate it?
S: People eat dumplings...
  2.（让学生进行一个采访活动,调查各个学生最喜欢的节日。）
T: Please make a survey about your favorite festival and fill in the chart.
