Unit 4 Can you swim? Teaching content: Let’s talk and let’s learn of unit 4 Teaching aims: 1. Using the key word in context, e.g., run, write, swim, fly, ride a bicycle. 2. Using yes/no question to find out information about one’s abilities, e.g., Can you swim? Yes./No. Teaching focus: Remembering how to read and write the new words: run, write, swim, fly, ride a bicycle. Teaching difficult points: Using new sentence form “can you…?” to communicate with each other. Teaching tools: PPT, CD, Cards Teaching procedures: Step1: Greeting Say hello to everyone and review what we learnt in last class. Step2: Presentation Last class we have learnt how to introduce yourself and your friends, so this class we will learn how to know your friends’ hobbies and abilities. Step3: Teaching new words and sentences, First: Let student see one picture and let them guess what is he doing and then I can teach new word, let students read after me. Second: teaching new sentence “can you…?” and using new words. Third: teaching new sentence “I can/I can’t” Forth: Using these ways to teach other new words and sentences. Step4: Review the words that we have learnt. Let student see pictures and let them say the words. Step5: Introduce more sentences Teaching students by using the sentence form and put new words, this way can let students remember what they have learnt. Teaching assignment: 1. Write every new word three lines and remember them. 2. Using new sentence form “can you…?” to communicate with each other.
