“No, no, sir.” the farmer said in a hurry.
“When did you see the dead man?”
“At about seven last night.”
“Did you see who killed the man?”
“No, sir.”
The officer brought out a knife and asked, “Have you seen it yet?”
“No, sir.”
The officer became angry and told the policemen to beat(打) him up and sent him into prison. the officer wanted to trap(设陷阱) the farmer into the confession(供认), but the farmer didn’t admit he was the murderer(谋杀犯).

　　“Would you carry my bag out to the car？” she said. I took the suitcase to the cab，then returned to assist the woman. She took my arm，and we walked slowly toward the cab.
　　She kept thanking me for my kindness. “It's nothing,” I told her. “I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated.”
