In chat shows on TV, you can find a set-up called right-side desk arrangement. In such programmes, hosts always place their desks to the right. Do you know why? That’s because it makes them seem powerful. In western culture, people read them from left to right, and they watch theatre and television that way, too. You can find other kinds in some interview formats. On the programme The view, for example, the hosts sit around the same table, with the guest at the centre, creating a more peaceful atmosphere. Chinese singer Tan Weiwei and five senior artists of Huayin Laoqiang Opera jointly performed on a TV show on Dec 5, causing a sensation among viewers. The song they created is a fresh mix of rock & roll and Chinese traditional folk music. And the video of this performance soon became one of the hottest topics with 1650,000 hits on the Internet.
During the performance, Tan shocked the viewers as soon as she started to sing. Five senior artists also got much attention by playing erhu,yueqin and a long bench that is the unique percussion(打击乐器) instrument for the Huayin Laoqiang Opera. Tan said that she wanted to add some Chinese folk music that has an element of rock and roll and her rock music, for most of the rock and roll is from the West. But the performance at last turned out to be a great success, which greatly encouraged Tan. She wept after the performance and said: "I was moved when I saw these artists perform with their full passion. And I am very pleased by the success of this attempt."

Harry Potter exhibition will kick off in Shanghai this weekend. In the exhibition, guests can get an up close and personal look with the artistry and skills that went into creating the vivid props (道具) and costumes that appeared throughout the Harry Potter films.
