A Ludwig Van Beethoven was born in Bonn in1770. He began learning the violin and piano when he was only five and by the time he was 8, he began giving concerts. C Many American presidents in the 19th century were from poor families. They spent their childhood in little wooden rooms. They got little education. Washington and Lincoln, for example, never went to school and they taught themselves. Lincoln once did jobs of a worker, shopkeeper and post-master in his early years.
