He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, news came which the old building, along with many other similar ones, were going to be pulled down to make a room for a main street. So they had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburbs near a beautifully park. His apartment is much big than before. The only problem is that it took quite a long time to get to the downtown area. Therefore, Mr. Yang doesn’t seem to worry about the long distances. He says that a new subway line will be built in a few years and he is sure life will be better in the future. Last week I went to visit my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. Therefore, Mr. Yang doesn’t            takes                                   However seem to worry about the long distances. 三、介词错误的可能性 : (1)固定短语的搭配问题,不如key to, answer to, be faced with等。 (2)主谓不一致 :they was doing …… (3)非谓语动词提前形式的错误 :viewed……,they were doing…… 如果是to doing,就要改成to do。 We are required to collect our smart phones and keep it in the teacher’s during the                                                Them                  the weekdays. In fact the most of us obey this regulation, but some still play various trick                                                                   tricks against it. I’m among those. Once, I hand in a waste phone. Mr. Li, our head teacher,                               handed seemed∧ignore all that. So I felt very luckily to have an extra phone with me. And      to                                                       lucky                           But/Yet good times don’t last long. “Can I use your phone as a while? I forgot to take mine by                                        for chance.” Mr. Li said, pick out my waste phone and dialing. You can see how embarrassing                 picking                                                         embarrassed I was at the scene! As the railroads and the highways shaped the American West in the past centuries, a new electrical generating(发电)and transmission (输送) system for the 21st century will leave a lasting mark on the West, for better or worse. Much of the real significance of railroads and highways is not in their direct physical effect on the scenery, but in the ways that they affect the surrounding community. The same is true of big solar plants and the power lines that will be laid down to move electricity around. The 19 th century saw land grants(政府拨地) offered to railroad companies to build the transcontinental railroads, leaving public land in between privately owned land. In much of the West, some of the railroad sections were developed while others remained undeveloped, and in both cases the landownership has presented unique challenges to land management. With the completion of the interstate highway system, many of the small towns, which sprang up as railway stops and developed well, have lost their lifeblood and died. Big solar plants and their power lines will also have effects far beyond their direct footprint in the West. This is not an argument against building them. We need alternative energy badly, and to really take advantage of it we need to be able to move electricity around far more readily than we can now. So trade-offs will have to be made. Some scenic spots will be sacrificed. Some species(物种) will be forced to move, or will be carefully moved to special accommodations. Deals will be struck to reduce the immediate effects. The lasting effects of these trade-offs are another matter. The 21st century development of the American West as an ideal place for alternative energy is going to throw off a lot of power and money in the region. There are chances for that power and money to do a lot of good. But it is just as likely that they will be spent wastefully and will leave new problems behind, just like the railroads and the highways. The money set aside in negotiated trade-offs and the institutions that control it will shape the West far beyond the immediate footprint of power plants and transmission lines. So let’s remember the effects of the railroads and the highways as we construct these new power plants in the West. 68. What was the problem caused by the construction of the railways? A. Small towns along the railways became abandoned. B. Land in the West was hard to manage. C. Some railroad stops remained underused. D. Land grants went into private hands. 69. What is the major concern in the development of alternative energy according to the last two paragraphs? A. The use of money and power. B. The transmission of power. C. The conservation of solar energy. D. The selection of an ideal place. 70. What is the author’s attitude towards building solar plants? A. Disapproving.  B. Approving.   C. Doubtful.   D. Cautious. 71. Which is the best title for the passage? A. How the Railways Have Affected the West B. How the Effects of Power Plants Can Be Reduced C. How Solar Energy Could Reshape the West D. How the Problems of the Highways Have Been Settled 参考答案: BADC 22. On Sundays my father always wore that dull gray apron – the one with the race cars all over it. The ritual began after breakfast when Dad always announced: "Go ahead everyone. I'll take care of the dishes!" With that my mother disappeared into the folds of the Sunday paper. Off came the suit coat he had worn to church that morning. Up went the shirtsleeves. On went that apron. For the next hour Dad did the dishes, singing ballads like "I Had a Hat When I Came In" and "Who Put the Chow in Mrs. Murphy's Chowder?" I suppose it was strange for a boy's father to wear an apron – even one with race cars – but I never thought much of it until the day that Dad broke with tradition. It was the last Sunday in August. My father seemed in an expansive mood as we walked home from church together. "Tommy," he said letting my name roll off his tongue. My mind raced ahead of his words: The birds and the bees? A new bike? A part-time job? "There comes a time in every boy's life when he must take on responsibilities." This was important. I might even get to back the car out of the driveway. "Responsibilities?" I asked. "Yes. It's time you took a greater role in the household." Power tools? Boss my baby brother? "Starting today, I want you to do the dishes on Sunday morning so your mother and I can work the crossword puzzle together." "The dishes!?" "Anything wrong with taking over the dishes, son?" I started to say something about a man's job or woman's work, but I knew immediately that my protests would fall on deaf ears. I didn't taste a bit of breakfast that morning. Dad seemed in a cheerful mood and was describing a wonderful baseball game he saw last night. Suddenly, everything grew quiet. My sister began to clear the table. My brother was finishing the last of the egg from his plate. And then that ancient family ritual (程序、仪式) that had filled so many Sunday mornings came to an end. My father announced: "Let's go read the paper, Hon." "Aren't you doing the dishes?" my mother asked in puzzlement. "Your oldest son has generously offered to fill the position." ks5u My brother and sister stopped cold. So this was what my life had come to. A dark angel sat on my left shoulder and reminded me that I could hit a baseball farther than anyone in my class. I could bench-press my weight. Ask me to run through a rainstorm. Command me to ride the roller coaster – backward. These things I would do. But I could never do those dishes. There was nothing left but to refuse. People often say there is a special chemistry between a father and a son. He came back into the kitchen just as I was about to storm out. He had loosened his tie and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt – ready to relax. In his right hand was the old apron. "I want you to have this, Tommy. It'll keep your clothes from getting wet." And before I could mount a protest, he had put the thing on me. "Thanks, Son. Your mother and I appreciate this." With that he disappeared into the Sunday paper. I looked down at the plastic. It had seen better days. I could see my dad reaching for the dishes. The dark angel flew off. Soon I was singing about Mrs. Murphy's chowder. The words came out of nowhere. And out of nowhere I knew the kind of man I wanted to be. 56. From paragraph 1, we can learn that ________.         A. the family usually had breakfast after going to church on Sundays         B. father was not really willing to wash dish
