【语法提要】
1.catch
catch动词,意为“赶上;捕获”。过去式、过去分词均为caught,catch a bus意为“赶上公共汽车”。如:
I don’t know whether we can catch the early bus.我不知道能否赶上早班车。
The cat caught a mouse.那只猫逮到了一只老鼠。
2.run after
run after意为“在……后面跑;追”。如:
The man is running after his son, because his son doesn’t want to do his homework.那位先生在追他儿子,因为儿子不想做作业。
类似的词组还有:
read after 跟着读。如:
Our teacher often asks us to read after him.我们老师常叫我们跟着他读。
3.with
英语里表达“有;没有”,可以用there be 句型,动词have/haven’t,介词with/without等。
there be 句型表示“在……存在有”。如:
There are 50 students in our class.我们班有五十个学生。
have/haven’t作动词表示“某某拥有”。如:
He has a lot of friends at school.在学校他有很多朋友。
介词with/without作伴随状语。如:
He sits on a chair with only three legs.他坐在一个只有三只脚的凳子上。
