Aims of knowledge a.To make all the students have the ability to read the following four phrases: by bus, by minibus, by school bus, by ferry b.To make all the students know the meaning of the following by bus, by minibus, by school bus, by ferry c.To make all the students knows the differences among bus, minibus and school bus d.To make all the students know the meaning of “How do you come to school?”. 2. Aims of abilities a.To make all the students know how to answer the question “How do you come to school?” according to the pictures b.To make all the students have the ability to say the following phrases: by bus, by minibus, by school bus, by ferry 3. Aims of emotion To make the students know his or her own way to come to school 三、Difficult and key points 1. To make the students know the difference among bus, minibus and school bus 2. To make all the students have the ability to answer the question “How do you come to school?” according to the pictures showed on the screen. 四、Teaching aids 1. flash cards 2. PPT 五、Teaching procedure: Step 1. Greetings Step 2. Warm up Sing a song about bus. Step 3. Presentation 1. by bus From the song, to review the word “bus”. Then show the students the picture of “by bus”, and present the picture of “school” and sentence “I go to school by bus.” 2. minibus and school bus Present the pictures of “minibus” and “school bus” beside the picture of “bus”, then ask the students to find the differences among them. The students can answer this question in Chinese. Then present “I come to school by bus”, and teacher leads the students change “bus” into “minibus” or “school bus”. 3. Play a guessing game to practice the three phrases. T holds the three pictures in her hands, then choose one, and ask the students which is in the teacher’s hand. The one who is right can get a star for his or her group. 4. by ferry Present the sound of a “ship”, and let the students guess what it is. Then show the picture of “ferry”. Practice “I go to school by ferry”. 5. Present “How do you come to school?” and lead the students to answer the question with the sentence pattern “I come to school by …” Step 4. Conclusion 1. Pair work Ask the students choose one of the four pictures and practice in pairs with the following sentence pattern for several minutes. How do you come to school? I come to school by … Then teacher checks some pairs. Step 5. Learn the song again 1. Listen to the song, and ask the students try their best to catch the words and follow it. 2. Learn the lyrics 3. Second, the students who get the cards stand in the front of the classroom. Other students ask them “How do come to school?”, then answer the question according to the picture they hold in hands. Step4. Presentation 1. Show the students the chart of Part D, then have a free talk about it. Who are they? They are Tom, Helen, Ben and Wendy 2. Watch the flash several times and try their best to tick the right answer. How do they come to school? 3. Check the answers. 4. Watch the flash in whole again. 5. Learn Picture 1 and make the students know the meaning of “group”. The students have heard “group” many times, just tell them which Group 1 is, which Group 2 is. To let the students own to catch the meaning of the word. Repeat after the CD sentence by sentence three times. Ask the students to read the content of Picture 1 , and then check three students of different levels. 6. Learn Picture 2 First watch the flash of this picture, then repeat after CD three times.
