英语作文第二篇：
"Fire ! Fire !"Earth shaking screems filled the once peaceful morning air . I leapt out of bed . There was a sickening acrid of smell in the air and haze had smothered most of the landscape outside my window .
My brother had spet out into the sreet below and I soon joined him . What I saw was a magnificent display of pyrotechnics . A fireworks factory was in flames . Tongues of fire licked the old building as gaint black ash floated about the air like black smoke descending onto earth . Victims trapped in the building screamed for help from open windows as a few others straddled about narrow ledges in as attempt to get as far from the fire as was possible . The building had for years been used in the production of fire crackers and other sorts of fireworks that were mostly exported . All the flammable material that it housed was literally feeding the fire . The whole eight storey building was completely engulfed in angry orange flames .
A dozen firemen stood about shooting jets of water into the fire . But , dousing the flames was not easy task . I few other firemen were helping in rescuring vitims trapped in the biulding. Ambulances zoomed in and out with patients burnt so badly one could hardly recognize their faces . My brother and I stood and watched behind a police cordon , praying quietly for the poor victims . The police had a trying time controlling the crowd . Some panic-stricken people tried to break across the cordon to help victims who appeared to be their friends or relatives . A neighbour , who's son was working in the building , fainted a few time as she watched the sence unravelling before her . I felt sick to the stomach not least because of the thick smoke that I was inhaling . Faces of anguish and terror were all about me . The victims were burnt beyond recognition ; they had skins hanging from their exposed bones .
It was only after 5 hours that the fire was completely put out . At the time , the cause of the fire had yet to be ascertained . Charred , what remained of the building stood like a bare skeleton emptied of flesh and organs .
My brother signed and said , " Just goes to show - fire is a good servant , but a bad master . " Shaking my head sadly , we walked home quietly .
