一、功能:Learn to get the main idea of each paragraph according to the key sentences. Know the meaning of resolution and can express own New Year’s resolutions using the structure — be going to.

Many resolutions have to do with self-improvement. Although there are differences, most resolutions have one thing in common. For example, a student may have to find more time to study. The start of the year is often a time for making resolutions. Why do you think resolutions may be difficult to keep?
三、学习策略:Get the main idea of each paragraph by finding the key sentences. Get the general idea by skimming and get more information by scanning. Guess the new words’ meanings from the context.
四、文化知识:Let students know it’s very necessary to make resolutions. And the key to make their wishes and plans come true is to do and carry them out.

Have a competition: Make sentences after the model.
1. T: Boys and girls! In our last section, we practiced the structure “be going to”. Now let’s have a competition: Make sentences after the model, using “be going to”. For example: I say “I’m thirsty.” You say “I’m going to drink some water.” You can stand up to answer without putting up your hand. Then I’ll give you one mark. Let’s see which group is the best.
2. The teacher says some sentences out. Ask students to make sentences after the model. The more the better.

1. 在新课开始时的“句子竞赛活动”要求学生在模仿成句的基础上,联系生活实际,表达真实的意义。它实现了学生灵活复习所学语言的目的,学生的思维层次也能得到发展。分组进行比赛还能活跃课堂气氛,让学生积极地进入课堂学习状态。接着,通过让学生谈论自己去年的新年决心并做与此有关的报告而导入新课,既与上节课所学内容有关又与本课短文内容紧密相连,起到了承上启下的作用。
2. 在任务二中让学生仔细阅读短文,画出每一段的关键句,然后再和方框中的段意进行匹配;在任务三中读这七个问题,带着问题去读短文。在短文中划出相关问题的依据,并作出回答。这些方法指导为后进生指明了学习方向。
在学生完成任务三后让他们大声朗读问题和答案,进而不看课本两人一组进行问答,提高了他们的口语表达能力,为读后活动中的短文复述打下了基础。读后活动中的思维导图帮组学生理清了短文结构,为学生从哪些方面复述短文提供了依据,对后进生来说作用很大。
3. 翻译探究环节,引导学生主动观察、思考、归纳和掌握语言规律,并借助典型习题,有针对性地突破重难点知识,从而达到学以致用。
4. 对学生进行情感教育,教育学生在日常生活中下决心做什么是很有必要的,并且要严格执行知己的决定,让它们变成现实。
不足之处:
复述短文暂用时间太长,从而导致时间紧张,读后活动没能很好地照顾到后进生。以后在关注后进生的同时还要注意时间分配的灵活调控。
使用建议:
1. 本课可以采用小组合作,分组竞争的方法,激发学生积极参与课堂活动的热情。
2. 注重及时性评价,尤其关注每组中的后进生同学,及时地鼓励学生,增强学生英语学习的自信心。部分后进生不会复述短文时,教师可以给他们提供译文,让他们看着译文复述。
