Module 2 A Job Worth Doing Introduction & Vocabulary and Reading 资中一中 陈芳 Language Aims 1. Sentence Structures 1) You go to this person and get your hair cut. 2) Life is hard at high altitude, and the mountains make communications difficult. 3) One vehicle comes off the road every two weeks. 4) Every morning he climbs up to the bend with a large circular board in his hand. 5) He was driving a lorry load of bananas when he came off the road at a bend and feel three hundred meters down the mountain. Step 1 Lead in Step 2 Discussion Step 3 Speaking Part II Vocabulary and Reading Step 1 Pre-reading Step 2 Fast reading Step 3 Detailed reading Step 4 Post reading Part III Homework Teaching Process Part I Introduction Task: Describe what sort of job you would (not)like to do in the future. Step 1 Lead in 1. Show a picture on the screen and ask the students the following questions and check some students’ answers in class. 1) What do you think of the men in the picture? 2) What are their jobs? 3) What do you think of their jobs? 2. Show the students some pictures and ask the students to answer questions. Step 2 Discussion Ask the students to discuss “what sort of job you would (not) like to do in the future”. Step 3 Speaking Ask some students to share their ideas of the topic discussed. Part II Vocabulary and Reading Step 1 Pre-reading Ask the students to look at the picture on page 12 and answer the following questions. 1) Can the bus driver see the lorry? 2) Can the lorry driver see the bus? 2) Will the lorry crash with the bus and why? Step 2 Fast reading 1. Ask the students to finish Activity 3 on page 13. 2.Ask the students to answer some questions in each paragraph. Step 3 Detailed reading 1. Ask the students to finish Activity 4 on page 13. 2.Ask the students to complete a True or False practice. Step 4 Post reading Ask the students to fill in blanks and finish the summary of the passage. Part III Homework i.Ask the students to choose one of the following topics to write a composition within 120 words. 1.Do you want to be a volunteer in the future and why? 2.Describe the job you want to do in the future and give the reasons. ii.Divide the students into 4 groups and give them three weeks to act this story out. If necessary, they can adapt this story. 此教案的内容是外研版英语教材高一下学期必修四的第四个模块的第一个课时-Introduction and Reading 部分。是这个模块的引入与主体课文部分,这个部分是整个模块很重要的部分。因为后面的Gramma, Listening,Everyday English,Fuction 与 Cultural Coner与这个部分紧紧相连,以这个部分为基础。总的来说本节课时真个模块的一部分。在这堂课的教学设计中,我充分利用多媒体技术,使用图片,音频,视频等力图使教学变得生动有趣,同时也使师生间的互动增多,让学生们在相互交流相互帮组的条件下得到最佳的学习效果。 这节课通过看图回答问题,讨论,演讲,阅读以及完成阅读任务等环节,不光可以使学生掌握本个模块以下的新单词,短语,语言点,既本节课的知识目标。 1. Sentence Structures 1) You go to this person and get your hair cut. 2) Life is hard at high altitude, and the mountains make communications difficult. 3) One vehicle comes off the road every two weeks. 4) Every morning he climbs up to the bend with a large circular board in his hand. 5) He was driving a lorry load of bananas when he came off the road at a bend and feel three hundred meters down the mountain. 其次,是让他们在互动中提高用英语表达自己的能力和提高他们的阅读能力,这是本节课的能力目标。更重要的是的可以让他们接触到更多的职业,认真思考自己以后想做什么和为什么,最后理解课文主角成为一个志愿者的原因以及意义。在通过课后的作业与任务使他们进一步思考文章主人公的奉献精神对于学生们择业观的影响。让主人公的正能量感染学生,激励学生,这是本节课的情感目标。最后是通过阅读文章(故事发生在南美)可以让同学们对于故事发生地的自然和社会环境有一定的了解,提高他们的文化意识和拓展他们的视野。 本节课的主要内容一个分为三部分。第一部分是Intriduction 部分,这是本个模块也是主体文章的引入部分。首先,我会在屏幕上给出两个帅气的警察的图片,然后问学生他们的职业。学生回答正确之后,我会问对于这个职业的看法。,然后总结学生所给的答案。在肯定在警察是无私的职业之后,向同学们以图片的形式展示更多普通的或常见的职业。让他们看图片,用本单元所学的新的单词给出图片上所示这也的英文称呼,适当的时候给予他们一些提示与帮助。在学习了众多的职业之后让学生思考和分小组讨论“他们将来打算从事什么职业和原因”。给予一定的谈论时间之后,让3-5个同学给大家分享自己的想法。在学生讨论中肯定会出现很现实的因素,那就是salary-工资。那我就抓住这个契机,提到工资,我们有些人会选择薪酬高的人,这我们都很能理解。但是就是有那么一些人,做一些事报酬很少或不计报酬,我们称之为志愿者。然后自然地过度到主体文章部分-关于一个志愿者的故事。然后通过Pre-reading ,while reading以及post reaing 等阅读任务使学生掌握新的词汇,以及领悟主人公的精神。再通过课后作业-作文(在将来你想成为一名志愿者么,为什么。)以及课后活动-把学生分成4大组,给学生三周的时间把这个故事改变成一个剧本并演出来。) 根据本节课的内容和目标可是较为清晰的明确本节课的知识内涵。通过引入和阅读的各个部分的实施,主要向学生们提供一些信息(如新词汇,文章当中提及的一个陌生的国家的一些信息,都有助于学生增加知识储备和拓宽学生的视野),并以文章主人公放弃作为货车司机的职业,为了挽救更多人的性命,而甘愿做危险路段的指引员(自愿,无工资)的例子,向学生间接提供志愿者的经验,让学生们树立一种助人为乐的观念。知识类型主要以书本知识为主,如学习很多的新词汇,新的语言点以及完成阅读任务等,同时辅以生活知识,如让同学们思考将来想做什么工作和原因,这自然要牵涉到生活知识。这样通过书本知识与生活知识的结合,既可以增加学生知识储备,也可以让学生更加积极活跃的参与到教学活动中来,是学生受益达到最大化。本课时内容不仅包括显性知识,即新词汇与新语法点等,还包含了隐性知识,即文章中出现背景国家的一些信息,以及主人公无私的奉献精神,都是文章当中隐含的知识,这些知识对于学生们的成长意义重大。
