Unit5 What are the shirts made of? Section A 1a-2d Teaching and learning goals: 一.功能: 能够用被动语态陈述句、一般疑问句和否定句描述和询问物产和产地。 二.词汇和常用表达: Ø 能正确使用下列词汇: chopstick,coin,fork, blouse, silver ,cotton, steel, produce… Ø 能正确使用被动语态的询问物产和产地: 1. What are the shirts made of? 2. It is made of silver. 3. It was made in Thailand. 三.学习策略:通过和学生谈论“物产和产地”相关话题,引导学生能够用英语描述及询问物品的制作材料,正确理解被动语态的用法及句子结构。并且积极参与学习活动。 四. 文化知识: 了解一些日常用品的制成材料,增加生活常识,养成良好的生活习惯;了解一些地方知名产品或传统艺术品的制作过程以及制作材料,培养学生的民族自豪感及爱国主义精神。 Step1. Look at P33-34, Can you translate these sentences? Step4 While-listening activities: Task1. Listen for the general idea of 1b(听取大意) T: Now let's work on 1b.Next you will hear a short conversation. What are they talking about? When I play the recording for the first time, you just listen carefully and give me the answer. The general idea of the conversation is about ( ) . Task2.Listen for the specific ideas of 1b(听取细节) 1. T: The girls are talking about the products. Now listen carefully again and match the products with what they are made of and where they are made. (Ss listen carefully, then check the answers.) 2. Listen and repeat. T: I’ll play the recording again and repeat after it to get your pronunciation right. (设计意图:在情景中呈现生词和短语,在通过层层递进的听力任务设计,尽量给学生以足够的听的机会。听力活动先让学生听大意,然后再听细节,能逐步培养学生用听的技能获取、处理和传递所需信息的能力。) Step5 .Post-listening Activities:. Pair work. T:Now use the sentences“what is it made of? /where is it made in? ....” to make conversations about the information in 1a. Now let’s talk about your city with your partner and make your own conversation. A: This ring looks nice. Is it made of silver? B: Yes, and it was made in Thailand. Make a conversation using information about the places in 1a.Ask several pairs to act their conversations out. Step6 While-listening activities: Listening Practice 2a&2b T:Look at the pictures, what are they made of/from? T:Let’s come to 2a.Do you know what they are talking about? S1:I think they’re talking about the materials of the pictures. T:Did you guess correctly? Please listen carefully. Task 1 . Listen for the main idea The general idea of the conversation is about A. what the model plane is made of B. what the painting is made from C. where Nick and Marcus went and what they saw Task 2 . Listen for the specific ideas of 2a(听取细节) T: You did a good job. Listen carefully again. You will hear some of the directions below. Listen and check the main topic of Nick and Marc S’s conversation. Task 3 Listen again. Write short answers to the questions. Make the students check the answers. Task4 Listen again and fill in the blanks. Nick: Hey Marcus, have you heard about the art and science ?
