1.让学生A离开教室, 并在门口等候, 让其他同学从事自己喜欢的室内活动，如：读书、讲故事、唱歌、画画等，并把自己的活动写在黑板上。

学生A进入教室，教师问：What were you doing when A came in?
同学们再把自己的答案写到黑板上。学生就可以直观的比较两种时态。
