a candle, a candleholder, a big glass jar, a shallow dish with water ,matches

Changyan Language System , a picture ,cards, a candle, a candleholder, a big glass jar,
a shallow dish with water, matches
Teaching Procedure:
Step1. Bring the teaching aids to the class. The teacher shows the picture and lead to the new lesson .
Step2. Show the candle ,jar and so on to the class and learn the new words.
Step3. The teacher does the experiment while explaining it in English. Let the students watch carefully.
Step4. Choose one student to do the experiment according to the instructions Changyan Language System gives.
Step5. Talk about the observation and explain the reason.
Step6. Come to “PROJECT”
Divide the class into groups of four or five. Discuss the experiment and write a report.
Step7. Homework
Finish off the report .

Summary:
Do the experiment and let the students report to the class. This can increase the students learning interests. As the students doing the experiments, let them explain them in English as much as possible. The teacher can help them if it necessary
