1.掌握一些与介绍节日有关的词汇:festival,celebrate,holiday,fun
2.激发学生兴趣,让学生运用所学知识介绍自己喜欢的节日。
3.掌握以下重点句子:
①In the story,a beautiful lady named Chang’e lives on the moon.
②We will have a seven-day holiday!
③I will be thirteen years old this year!

一、创设情境,切入主题
Step 1 Lead-in
Lead in by discussing the following questions:
When is Mid-Autumn Festival?
What do people eat on Mid-Autumn Festival?
What is Jenny going to do on Thanksgiving Day?
Discuss the question in groups.The teacher shows some pictures about different festivals to the class.
Ask the students to talk for three minutes.Then let them present the answers in front of the class.

Step 2 Listening
Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
What do people on the night of Mid-Autumn Festival do?
What is the best thing for Li Ming about autumn?
When is Thanksgiving Day in Canada and the U.S.?
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 3 Reading
Read the text and decide if the following statements are true or false.
We will have a seven-day holiday during National Day.
Li Ming will be fourteen years old this year.
Jenny and her family will have a big dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
Finish the task in class in oral.
Step 4 Activities
1.Introduce your favourite festival in groups.What is your favourite festival?Why do you like it?What do you do during it?Make a dialogue between three or four students.Then present it in front of the class.
2.Work with your partner.Write an e-mail to each other to introduce your favourite festival.
Step 5 Write a short note
Suppose you are going to introduce your favourite festival.Write a short note.Remember to tell something about your favourite festival.Practice for a while.Then let some students read their notes in front of the class.
Step 6 Come to “Let’s Do It!”
Read the text again.Finish off Exercise 1.Listen to the tape and finish Exercise 2 together.
Work with your partner.Suppose you and your partner are Li Ming and Jenny,and then act out a dialogue.
Practice for a while.Then ask some students to present their dialogues in front of the class.

Finish off the Project in “Let’s Do It!”.
