Tony: Yes. I’m training with TNET, the Taiyuan National English Team, for the Nation's English Competition. It's the big event next week.
Betty: Who's it against?
Darning: BNET.
Lingling: What does BNET stand for?
Tony: Beijing National English Team.
Betty: Oh, yes. You won last time.
Lingling: What was the score?
Betty: TNET 90 points to BNET 88. And when will the competition be held?
Darning: Next Sunday. Are you coming?
Betty: No. It's going to be a tough competition. I'm going to watch the TV report and write a report for our school magazine New Students.
Lingling: I agree. Are you in the team, Daming?
Daming: Yes, I was chosen this time. Why are you smiling, Betty?
Betty: Well, I've seen BNET take part in English competition several times this season, and they’re brilliant! And it is my opinion...
Tony. No, I don't…
Betty: ... you've got no chance! What do you reckon, Lingling?
Lingling: I think you're right, Betty.
Daming: Well, you won't be allowed to watch with our schoolmates if that's what you think!
Betty: It's true, Daming.
Tony: Well, I don't agree. We're training really hard this season. I think we're so good that we'll be asked to take part in the World English Competition in New York next year.
Daming: Don't let them get to you, Tony! (They leave)
