Leading in: How do we describe people?
Adjectives: tall, quiet, late, free
Sentences: Jim is tall. Lucy is quiet.
Let’s describe the following people:
1. tall: Jim is taller than Tim.quiet: Lucy is quieter than Lily.
2.late: Lucy is later than Lily.free: Lucy is freer than Lily last weekend.
当A 和B做比较时时,用(主语+)“比较级+ than +比较对象”来表示。
e.g. My room is smaller than yours. 我的房间比你的小。
【Purpose】:问题引入新课,学生能够提前了解本课所学知识,有一个初步的印象,打下基础。
Task 1: in 1a:
The teacher shows some pictures to students on the screen. Ask students to tell what they see.
Ask students to use these words: tall, wild, thin, long hair, short hair, heavy, calm, short and so on.
Then ask students to repeat these sentences.
【Purpose】:练习学生口头语言表达能力。
Task 2: in 1b-1c:
1. Call attention to the picture. Point out the sample conservation in activity 1c.
Work with the partner. Make your conservation about the twins.
Ask several pairs to practice their conservations.
Then listen to the tape. Ask students to number the
twins. Check the answer.
【Purpose】:培养学生听说能力,掌握基本知识点。
2. Point out the two columns and read headings: -er, -ier. Then read the words in 2a.
Listening to the recording; write words in box of 2b. Check the answer.
【Purpose】:通过听句子能够进一步理解形容词比较级此语法项目。
Task 3: in 2c-2d
Point out the chart in 2c; make students practice conservation according to information.
Ask students to read this conversation in pairs.
Explain important language points to students.
