在平时的教学中，应十分重视听说训练，尝试让学生在口语运用中学会表达他们的个人意见，抒发个人情感。因此，在第七单元中，功能话题是地理和文化中最为特色的的事物，这与学生的生活、兴趣、经历都息息相关，只要引导得当，极易激发学生的兴趣，开展关于这一话题的讨论。在准备上课时主要从以下几个方面入手：采取听录音，回答问题的方式，在完成第一项听力任务后，让学生带着问题阅读课文，再提出问题。开展小组合作竞赛的方式，以提问题最多和回答问题最多的小组为优胜组，给予奖励。因而学生一直在积极参与，提出的问题之丰富，超越了老师的想象，体现了他们丰富的想象力和创造力，取得了极佳的效果。
