Step1 Warming up Have a competition between boys and girls to say the kings of the movies and names of TV shows in English. After Ss’ words, T can say other names of TV shows out. Teaching aids: the multimedia computer, the recorder. Teaching steps: Step1 Warming up Have a free talk with the students. Revise the contents we’ve learnt during the last two periods. Eg: Hello, …. Step 2 Presentation Show the students some things and sate my opinions. Then show the students an old bag, ask about their opinions. Then I ‘ll say: I can’t stand the bag because it’s too old . To learn these vocabularies: fashion, cool, by , said article , put , cool 2. Make Ss state their own opinions about many things and express their feelings ( likes and dislikes ) freely . 3. Procide Ss reading and writing practice. Teaching Steps: Step1 Warming up Ss enjoy a popular English song: Take me to your heart. Step 2 Presentation 1. Discuss the song with Ss: Do you like the song ? Can you sing it ? What do you think of it? It’s beautiful etc. Who sings it? It’s sung by…(Teach”by “) What do you think of him? I love him. 2. Discuss things with Ss. Do you often listen to the songs? How do you do that? On TV or on internet? Do you have an MP3 ? (Say : MP3 is a fashion . Teach fashion ) What do you think of MP3? What other things are fashion ? Ss give more examples like sunglasses , mobile phones . caps or hats and so on . Step3 Discuss (Group work ) Ss discuss these things like sunglasses , mobile phones, caps or hats and so on . Step4 Make a survey 1. Make a list of the things above and Ss make a survey. They ask their classmates that they think of each thing. Get different answers .Ss can state their own opinions and reasons . Step6 Read (Work on 3a ) 1. Fast read Ss read the article in 3a. Ask them a question before reading. 2. Ask more questions to check them . 3. read after the tape . Step7 Work on 3b. Ss complete the letter. Then check the answers. Step8 Debate (Work on 3 at P70 .self check ) You can have MP3 .But you can’t wear rings at school .while old people can wear them . Can they wear sunglasses or scarfs? Can they be beautiful ? Thanks for joining us. 谢谢你来参加我们的活动。 Thanks sb. for sth. / doing sth. 谢谢某人做了某事 For后面接名词或动名词 例如:Thank you for your kindness. 谢谢你的好意。 Thank you for helping me. 谢谢你帮助了我。 3. What do you think of sitcoms? 你认为情景喜剧怎么样? I showed each student seven things, and asked them what they thought about each thing? 我给每个学生看了七样东西,并且问他们对每样东西的看法。 这里think of 和think about 可以替换。 例如:I can’t think of her name at the moment. 我一时想不起她的名字。(这句话里的think of 如果换成think about 就不太合适了) What do you think of Mary’s singing? 你认为玛丽唱歌怎么样? Think about 想到,考虑 例如:I never think about getting married. 我从未想到结婚。 The monitor is thinking about calling a class meeting. 班长正在考虑开一次班会的问题。 4.I can’t stand it 我忍受不了它。 stand 有“站,立,坐落,坚持,经受,忍受”等多种意思。作“忍受”讲,后面还可以接动名词。 例如:The baby cannot stand yet. 这个婴儿还不能站立。 We can’t stand that fellow. 我们不能容忍那个家伙。 I can’t stand waiting any longer. 再等下去我可受不了了。 I can’t stand your being treated like that. 我可不能容忍别人那样对待你。 5.I showed each student seven things …… 我给每个学生看了七样东西。 这里show 是动词,表示“出示,给。。。看”,常用句型show sb. sth. show sth. to sb. talk show 谈话节目 这里show是名词,作为名词还有“展览,演出”的意思 例如:Will you show me your passport? 把你的护照给我看看好么? Don’t show the letter to any of your friends. 别把这封信给你的任何朋友看。 We were asked to show our tickets at the barrier. 在入口处我们要出示门票。 Are you going to the flower show? 你打算去看花展么? Theatres put on special shows for children during the Christmas season. 圣诞节期间剧院为儿童举行专场演出。 6. I don’t mind them. 我不介意。 mind 有多种用法:mind doing sth. mind sth. / sb. 等 例如:I don’t mind at all. 我一点也不介意。 Would you mind my smoking here? 我在这里抽烟你不介意吧? Would you mind passing me the newspapers? 把报纸递给我好么? 7. I can’t stand the idea that old people have no right to be beautiful. 我忍受不了老年人没有权利讲究美的这种观点。 这是一个由that 引导的定语从句。情态动词can及其否定形式can’t后只能接动词原形,如要接形容词,形容词前必须加be动词。 right 这里是名词,表示“权利” 例如:What gives you the right to say that? 你有什么权利说这话。 He has a right to do that. 他有权利做那件事。 right 做形容词,最常用的含义是“正确的” 例如:What’s the right time? 现在正确的时间是几点? Your account of what happened is not quite right. 你对于发生的事情所做的叙述不太正确。 8、I do, too. / I don’t, either. 我也… / 我也不… too 与either的区别:too“也”, 表示肯定意义,与肯定的表达方法连 用;而either “也不”,表示否定意义,与否定的表达方法连用。 --My brother likes to play soccer. –I do, too. --My brother doesn’t like to play soccer. –I don’t, either. 9、a thirteen-year-old boy 一个十三岁的男孩 此结构中,year用单数形式,且用连字符,类似的结构还有: five-month-old baby 五个月大的婴儿 试比较: He is a student. He is thirteen years old. He is a thirteen-year-old student. 10、Cooking is for moms! 做饭是妈妈们的事! cooking在这是动词+ing(动名词)形式,表示“做饭”这件事,类似的 例句还有: Studying is for students. Watching talk shows is very boring. 11、enjoy reading 喜爱 / 享受阅读 enjoy 后面接名词、代词或动名词,注意与like / love用法的区别,如: I enjoy / like /love the movie. I enjoy / like / love watching the movie. 但我们不能说:I enjoy to watch the movie. 只能说:I like / love to watch the movie. 五.语法知识 一般现在时 主要用于下面几情况: 1) 描述当前时间内经常出现、反复发生的动作或存在的状态。在这种情景中,句子常带有表示频率的时间状语:always , everyday , often , once a week (month , year , etc.) , sometimes , seldom , usually等等, 以表示句中的动作或状态是习惯性的、经常性的。例如: They raise ducks as a sideline .他们以养鸭为副业。 She doesn't often write to her family, only once a month. 她不常给家里写信,仅一月一封而已。 I cycle to work every day .我每天骑自行车上班。 It seldom rains here .这儿很少下雨。 2)仅为了描述状态、性质、特征、能力等等。 这里的目的是为了"描述现阶段的动作或状态",其重点"不是强调动作发生的时间、或进行的状态"。例如: He can speak five foreign languages .他能说五种外语。 That is a beautiful city .那是座美丽的城市。 Changjiang River is one of the longest rivers in the world. 长江是世界上最长的河流之一。 She majors in music .她主修音乐。 All my family love football .我全家人都喜欢足球。 My sister is always ready to help others . 我妹妹总是乐于助人。 3) 陈述客观事实、客观真理。 顾名思义,客观的情况是"没有时间概念"的;也"不会在意动作进行的状态"。例如: The sun rises in the east .日出东方。 The earth goes around the sun .地球绕着太阳转。 Ten minus two is eight.十减二等于八。 Light travels faster than sound .光的速度比声音的速度快。 The United States lies by the west coast of the Pacific Ocean. 美国位于太平洋西岸。 4) 一些与travel(旅行)有关的动词和其它少量动词,可用于一般现在时,表示按规定计划安排要发生的动作。这样的动词常见的有:arrive ,be , begin , come , close , depart , dine , end , go , leave , ope
