教学过程
Step 1 Greetings
Greet the students as usual.
Step 2 Revision
1. Dictate the important phrases and sentences learned last class.
2. Ask some pairs to practice the conversation in the homework.
Step 3 Presentation
Ask:Do you do chores in your home? What do you usually do? What does your mother do? If your mother is tired,would you help her? Get the students to talk about these in pairs. Then ask some students to report their answers. Then remind them that mother is sometimes tired,so we should help her do chores.
Step 4 Reading
3a, Show the picture of Nancy’s home and say:This is Nancy’s home. What a mess? What happened? Please read the passage and answer the following questions.
1. Did Nancy do any housework that day?
2. Why was Nancy’s mom angry with Nancy?
3. Did they solve the problem? How?
3b, Read the story again and read the sentences below. Underline the sentences from the reading that mean the same thing.
1. Neither of us did any housework for a week.
2. My mom came over as soon as I sat down in front of the TV.
3. You’re tired,but I’m tired,too.
Ask some students to report their answers and help them to understand the underlined parts:1. For one week. She did not do any housework and neither did I. 2. The minute I sat down in front of the TV,my mom came over. 3. I’m just as tired as you are!
3c Decide whether the underlined words in the sentences are verbs or nouns. Then write another sentence using the underlined word in the other form.

5. “What happened?”she asked in surprise.
If there’s difficulty,ask them to do it with their partner.
Step 5 Presentation
Read and remember the sentences in the table.

Step 6 Grammar
Could you(please)+ V-原形?表示委婉地提出请求。
e.g. 1. Could you please clean your room?
Yes,sure. / Of course./ Certainly./All right.
2. Could you please do the dishes?
Sorry,I can’t. I have to do my homework.
在表示请求帮助或请求允许的疑问句中,常用could代替can,以表示礼貌,委婉或不确定的语气,而can则不具备这些语气。这种情况下不能把could看作can的过去式。以上两句中用could是为了表示礼貌的请求。表示请求帮助或请求允许时,除了can, could之外,还可以用may。Could/Can/May I use your car for a day?
如同意可以说Yes或Sure或Certainly,还可说Yes,(do) please. 或Of course. (you may/can). 或Go ahead, please. 或That’s OK/all right; 如果不同意,可以说I’m sorry you can’t. 或I’m really sorry,but I have to use it today. 要避免说No,you can’t. 这样显得很不礼貌。否定回答通常用委婉语气。
无论肯定还是否定应答中,要避免使用could,要用can或may。因为应答须用确定的语气。而could在表请求的问句中是为了表示礼貌或委婉语气,用在应答中则成了不确定语气,与情理不符。所以应答中不说Yes,you could. 或No,you couldn’t. 而要说Yes,you can. 或Sorry. /No,you can’t.
Step 7 Practice
Make up dialogues using the sentences in Grammar Focus with your partner.
4a, Write R for requests and P for permission. Then match each one with the correct response.

If we are having a camping trip,what should we do before the trip? Make a list of things your group needs to do for a camping trip. Then discuss who will do them and complete the chart.
Ask some students to report their answers and then ask them act out the dialogue.
Step 9 Homework
Write a letter to your friend to ask him / her to take care of your house when you are on vacation.

教学反思
语法不要多,要精。多了,学生容易摸不着头脑,反而越听越糊涂。拣紧要的讲清楚,一些不太重要的可以放手让学生在练习中自己体会、总结。像本课牵涉到的动词不定式,如果一股脑儿地把常见的动词不定式都列举出来,学生往往会“知难而退”,不如让学生在练习中边思考,边记忆,“各个击破”效果好。
