Its in the.(east/west/north/south)of.”讲述某地的地理位置和相关的基本信息。技能目标：能够运用 所学的语言知识与同伴进行交流。情感态度目标： 让学生通过对祖国一些城市地点的描述，进而体会祖国的博大辽阔，增强他们的爱国情怀。教学重点：四个基本方位词east，west, north ,south及句型Its in the.(east/west/north/south)of.并能根据不同的地点描述其方位。教学难点：运用所学知识在现实生活中与人交流。教学准备：单词卡片 PPT卡片 课文录音教学过程：Step1：Warming-up1、 老师准备一张中国地图并介绍：“This is a map of China.Im from HeNan,its in the north of China.对句子进行解释，接着继续提问：“Where are from?”2、 老师接着和学生进行对话Who is Sam? Where is he from?3、 老师问题引导Can you tell me something about American?4、 老师再抛出一个问题Where is Washington DCNew York?并顺势展示一张简易的美国地图，以此引出新课。Step 2、presentation1、 在地图上标示东（east）西(west)南(south)北(north).教会学生这些单词的发音，然后用学生喜欢的，也容易模仿的chant来重复学习方位。East, east, in the east.West, west, in the west.North,north,in the north.South,south, in the south.2、 做转法游戏：全体同学起立，听老师指令：Please turn to west. Please turn to north.学生做转法活动。3、 放录音，学生跟读两遍。看地图，说一说：Where is Washington DCNew YorkSan FranciscoShanghaiXinJiangHaikouHarbin?再听两遍，回答问题：Where is CanadaMexico?提问此时的回答会和刚才的不一样，让学生带着目标去听。4、 引导学生自己总结归纳方位表达的方法。Step3、Consolidation1、创设情境：为了提高学生的英语水平，每位学生都要交一位笔友，和同桌或在小组内交流一下，自己选择何地的笔友，然后汇报一下。A：I want a pen friend from New York.B:Where is New York?A:Its in the east of American.2、 老师示范，学生用学过的方法，分小组讨论一下自己旅游过的城市。T：Last year,I went to Beijing.S:Tell me more about Beijing.Where is Beijing?T:Look,this is a map of China.Its in the north of China.3、 当堂检测读一读，连一连（1）San Francisco is in the north of American. （2）Canada is in the east of American.（3）New York is in the south of American.（4）Shanghai is in the west of American.（5）Haikou is in the east of China.（6）Mexico is in the north of China.（7）Harbin is in the south of China.Step 4:Homework用今天所学的知识向父母或邻居家的同伴介绍 New York 、San Francisco 、Canada、 Mexico在美国的位置及Shanghai、Haikou、 Harbin等其他的一些情况。板书设计： M1 U2 Its in the West.
