The lesson that I am going to teach is Module 4 Unit 2 “life in the future” The book was published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press.
Background information
Learners Analysis
The students that I am supposed to teach are the first-year students of junior high school in Nanning. They have learned English for more than 5 years. They have learned the unfamiliar vocabularies of the passage last class. They have a little understanding of future tense, but is not very good at it. They can read some simple passage, but they are not very good at reading with scanning and skimming skill.
Materials Analysis
The lesson that I am going to teach is Module 4 Unit 2 “life in the future” The book was published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. This is a reading class. The passage shows four ideas which one day may come true. These four ideas are very interesting and attractive to students of junior high school. In the passage, we can find out a lot of expressions to express future life. The passage is not very difficult for students to get the general ideas, but there are some difficult sentences for students to understand.
Teaching objectives
Linguistic objectives:
By the end of the class, students are able to express their future life with some useful expressions that they found in the passage.
Strategic objectives:
By the end of the class, students can get the main idea of the passage with the skimming skill, and get the specific information with scanning skill.
Emotional objectives:
By the end of the class, students’ thinking space and horizon will be enlarged in some ways. Their imagination will be aroused.
Focal /difficult points
Key points: Students can find the answer to the question under the limited time.
Difficult points:
1:when students describe the scene in the video, they can not express their ideas fluently.
2: Students may catch some difficult sentences, such as “a changes of weather won’t mean a change of clothes ” ”it’ll be cheap to travel everywhere by plane, not only over land, but also over the sea or even into space”

Step1:watch a video

1: Watch the video
2: Talk about the scene and think about whether the scene in the video will come true or not and think out the reason
1: Show a video about the world will be like in future.
2: Ask students whether the scene will come true in future and ask them give the reason.
Arouse students’ interest and lead in the topic.
Step2:predict
(2min)
To predict according the teacher’ mind.
Ask students to predict what we are going to learn this class
Arouse students’ ability to predict.
Step3: The first reading
(8min)
1: Do the first reading in the limited time to get the general information of the passage
2: match the pictures with the paragraphs.
3: Put up hands to match the pictures with the paragraphs and give the reason.
1: Ask students to do the first reading and get the general idea to do the gap-filling exercise.
2: Ask 4 students to show their answer and check the answer together with the whole class.
To get the general information with the skimming skill.
Step4: The second reading

1: To do the second reading to get some specific information according to the true or false question.
Put up hands actively to answer the question.
2: Listen carefully while teacher is explaining the answer and analyzing the difficult sentences
3: Take some notes.
1: Show 4 true or false question to students and ask them to finish while they are doing the second reading for some specific information.
2: After students showing their answer, teacher must check the answer and explain why and analysis the difficult sentences for students to understand the passage.
To get the specific information with scanning skill according to the question.
Explain the reason can make students have a better understanding of the passage and know where they are right and where they are wrong.
Step5 : The
third reading

Do the third reading quickly and talk with partners to answer the two given question
1: Ask students to do the third reading and talk with their partner to answer the two question:
a: Will people have a long holiday? Why?
b: When every family have a plane , so what advantages they have ?
2: Ask students to share their answer with the whole class and check the answer
Let students have a better understanding of the passage.
Step6: close the eyes to imagine the scene according to the teacher describe.

Describe a scene with the expressions appeared in the passage and ask students to close the eyes to imagine the scene according to the teacher describe.
Let students have a better understanding of the expression and phrases appeared in the passage and enjoy the scene about amazing life in the future.
Step7:
Describe the future life
(3min)
Put up hands to share the prediction about the life in the future after imagine the scene
Ask two students to predict what their own life would be like in the future.
To let students have the chance to express their future life with the useful expression or sentences that appeared in the passage.
Homework Assignments : Find out every expression about the word “will” and write down all the related sentences to the notebook.
