Writing a diary.

I. Teaching Aims:
Language Goal: Master the structure of the past tense, simple past of regular and irregular verbs.
Ability Goal: Learn to write a diary about weekend activities by using the past tense.
Moral Goal: Arrange the weekend activities reasonably to make it meaningful.

V. Teaching Methods: Pairwork, Groupwork and Classwork
VI. Teaching Procedures:
Task1 Lead-in
T: How is the weather today? How was the weather yesterday? What day is it today? What day was it yesterday? What’s the date today? What was the date yesterday?
Task2 Weekend Activities
Revise some useful phrases in Units 9-10.
Task3 Pairwork
Students make conversations to talk about their weekend activities.
Task4 Miss Liu’s last Sunday
Show my photos on the screen and ask: What did I do in the picture? Students look at my photos and revise some useful phrases.
Task5 Filling in the diary.
Ask students to help me complete my diary.
Task6 Writing a diary.
Write their own diaries about weekend activities.
Task7 Making comments on their diaries in groups.
Change your diary in your groups. Help correct the mistakes and make some comments.
Task8 Summary& Homework
We’ve learnt to write a diary about weekend activities. Most of you really did a good job. After class, correct your mistakes and write it again.
