2. Paragraph one to paragraph three
Teaching procedure:
Step1 Revision: Introduce a student and say something about his/her clothes
Step2 Introduce the meaning of paragraph one to paragraph three
The passage introduce the history of fashion show since 1960s. It describes the different fashion items which students from period wear. Beijing Sunshine Secondary School students organized a fashion show to raise money for Project Hope.
Step3 1>.Ask the students to read paragraph one to paragraph three and find out the words/phrases or the difficult sentences that they don’t know.
2>. Let the students write the new words or the phrases on the blackboard and discuss in groups. Train the students the ability of guessing the new words or phrases according to the contest.
3>. Explain something necessary while reading to the students.
Step4. Ask some general question to make sure the students understand the text.
1>. When did the Class 1 students give a fashion show?
2>. Why?
3>. How did Simon look at the fashion show?
4>. What did Simon wear?
5>. Did Daniel look smart and modern? Why?
Step5.
Read after the tape.
Step6.
Ask several students to read out a paragraph each. Check for correct pronunciation.
