The Great Wall: a man-made wonder of the worldThe Great Wall is an ancient wall of stones in the north of China. It was built hundreds or thousands of years ago. There are many stone walls in north China, and each is about from five meters to ten meters tall. The builders brought stones from hills nearby. The Great Wall was probably a wall on which soldiers fought against the enemy, or a stone road along which things or people move to places far away. Some of the Great Walls are missing, but its still one of the most wonderful sights of the world. It is a wonder also because of this question: How did people build such a long wall without modern equipments? No one knows the answer.Close down by making a poster of a wonder of the worldWe are to work in pairs and make a poster of a wonder of the world.The Great Pyramid of Giza (埃及吉札金字塔) is the only remaining structure of the Seven Wonders of the World along with being the oldest. Most people agree the pyramid was built over a 20 year period concluding around 2560 BC. It is generally believed the Great Pyramid was built as the tomb of Fourth dynasty Egyptian king or pharaoh Khufu, after whom it is sometimes called Khufus Pyramid or the Pyramid of Khufu. Hemon is believed to be the designer of the Great Pyramid.
