Teaching Procedure :
Step1 Leading
Greeting
The teacher ask her students: Good morning ,boys and girls, May I ask your some questions ?
T : Did you watch TV/ see a movie last night ?
S : ……
T : What were you doing at 7 last night? S : ……
S : ……
Show a picture of a birthday’ party and say :Yesterday was Miss Huang ’s daughter’s birthday . Guess what they were doing at 8 pm last night .
Elicit the answers from the class .
Preparation
Show three pictures (traffic lights )
T : What is this ?
S : ……
We must obey the traffic rules .
T : When can we cross the road ?
Choose the correct answers
When the traffic light is red , you _____ ( can , can’t ) cross the road .
When the traffic light is green , you _____ ( can , can’t ) cross the road .
Step 2 Presentation
Show nine pictures, learn new words.
Pale , appear , round ,corner , hit , glad , in time , fall off . risk , attention , side .
Read the new words loudly .
Step 3Speak
Activity 1 Talk about the picture . Elicit descriptions , List their ideas on the board .
Step Listening
Activity 2 Read the sentences and discuss what the recording may be about in pairs .
Play the recording twice . Check their answers
Step 4 Listen and read
Activity 3 Play the recording ,Ask the students to listen and repeat .
Write the questions on the board , What kind of accident is ? Was anyone hurt ?
The whole class read the conversation loudly .
Ask the students to work in groups of and Read the conversation aloud ,
Now complete the following advice ,
Ask the students to read the sentences and guess what advice they might give ,
Ask the students to read the conversation again and underline the key information ,
Ask the students to complete the sentences
Elicit the answers from the whole class .
Step 5 Speaking
Activity 6 Tell the class that Students B , C and D saw an accident and Student A , Who plays the role of a policeman , want to know what happen and what the three students were doing when the accident happened
Ask them to role –play a conversation .
Ask a couple of groups to role –play . for the class .
