一、 教材分析
本单元主要是围绕谈论时间和喜爱的学科来展开话题，通过本单元的学习，使学生了解时间的表达方法和学科的学习方法的相关情况，乐于接触并了解异国文化。在学习过程中，让学生能够对自己感兴趣的学科，勇敢的用英语表达自己的看法，感受各个学科给我们带来的知识与乐趣，不断学习超越自我的精神。
Lesson 8 本科将继续谈论最喜爱的学科这个话题，它更进一步讨论了学科的学习方法，同时感知现在完成时。
1教学重点：。描述自己喜爱的学科及学习方法
2教学难点：如何引导学生准确描述自己感兴趣的学科。
二、教学目标：
1语言知识：
掌握词汇： except tonight
接触词汇： physical runner
短语 ： help...with make...do sth. see sb. do sth. the best way to do sth.
2语言技能：通过本课的学习培养学生综合运用语言的能力，有效提高学生听说及阅读能力。
3 情感态度：让学生通过本课的学习，了解一些学科的学习方法，拓展知识面，并培养学生努力拼搏，积极进取，不断超越自己的意识。
4 学习策略：通过听力练习、小组活动来完成听说及阅读的训练。

四、教学步骤
Step 1 Presentation : （about 5 min）
Show some pictures and ask questions, get the students to answer the questions and understand the meanings.
【设计思路】：用图片新授单词，让学生可以对形象生动的画面产生深刻的印象，激发学习兴趣，调动多种感参与学习活动，更好的理解单词意思以及在语境中的用法。
Step 2 Leading in （about 2 min）
From Lesson7 we have known about Jenny’s and Brain’s favourite subjects. How about Danny? What did he do in yesterday’s class? Now let’s let’s learn Lesson 8
【设计思路】：进一步激发学生兴趣，引发学生思考。
Step 3 Listening（about 5 min）
Play the tape, get the students to listen and write true or false.
After listening, check the answers . Make sure that the students can understand.
【设计思路】：培养学生的听力，让学生大致了解文章内容。
Step 4 Reading （about 10 min）
Get the students to read the text and write down the answers to the questions.
After reading , check the answers. Make sure that the students can understand.
Then explain the new words and useful expressions in class.
【设计思路】：培养学生的阅读能力，让学生深入了解课文内容，能够使用简略答语正确回答问题，并掌握生词和短语。
Step 5 Practice ( about 3 min )
Ask them to do some exercises about the useful expressions in class and then check the answers.
【设计思路】：让学生进一步巩固本科所学的重点短语，达到熟练掌握。
Step 7 Extended-reading ( about 7 min )
Ask them to read the passage silently and quickly and then answer the questions below.
【设计思路】：阅读有关学科的文章，增加学生的课外阅读量同时为后面的小组讨论打基础。
Step Discussion ( about 7 min )
Ask students to discuss the methods of learning English.First they discuss in groups then ask them to show their result. They can show in any forms they like.
【设计思路】：让学生将本课所学内容由口头表达转化为笔头练习， 形成知识的输出，提高写作能力。
Step 7 Summary and Homework （about 2 min）
Sum up what we have learned in this lesson.
Get the students to find some English passages about learning methods.
【设计思路】：让学生课下搜集有关学习方法的文章，有助于学生掌握本课主要内容并增强自主学习意识。
