Step1.Warm-up
Listen and sing along with a song “Happy Birthday to You”. And thus leads to the new lesson “Unit8 When is your birthday? (Period2).
Step2.Lead-in
1. Look at the pictures and review the months. Introduce some important holidays to students.
When is Children’s day?
It’s June 1st.etc.
2. Have students pay attention to the short forms of the 12 months in a year.
3. Let students know how many days there are in each month.
Step3.Presentation
1. Give half of the class cardinal numbers 1 to 31, and half of them ordinal numbers. Have them try to match the numbers together.
2. Have students try to find out some rules of changing cardinal numbers into ordinal numbers.
Step4.Activity 2a
1. Let students master the reading methods of dates.
2. Have students try to write out the full forms of the ordinal numbers 1st to 31st.
