2.创设情境,通过听说帮助学生学习和掌握有关外貌的句型。
三.教材分析
1.教材的内容
本节课是七年级下册Unit9 What does he look like? 的第一课时,主要内容描述人物的身高、体型和头发等外貌特征和问答人物外貌特征的句型。
2.教材的地位和作用
本节课的内容来源于生活,立足于生活,它以人物的外貌为主线,由浅入深,循序渐进,其主要目的是激发学生学习英语的积极性,能运用词语和句型来描述自己和他人的外貌。
3.教学目标
(1)知识目标
单词:short hair,curly hair ,long hair.,straight hair,tall, short,medium height,thin,heavy,medium build
句型:
What does he /she look like?
He’s/ She’s tall./short…
He / She has straight hair/ is of medium build…
(2)能力目标:
能抓住人物的主要特征来描述人物的外貌,并根据描述画出人像。
能概括人物的外貌特征并根据人物特征推理出某一人物。
(3)情感目标:
通过描述同学、教师或自己的偶像的外貌,表达自己的看法,使学生在人际交往中学会尊重和理解别人,学会交换不同的看法,了解他人的爱好,增进情谊。
四.教学重点及难点
1、掌握并运用描述人物特征的词汇:
tall, short, medium height----身高特征
thin, heavy, medium build-----体重特征
short hair, curly hair, long hair, straight hair, black hair, blonde hair, brown hair---发型特征
2、掌握并运用简单的英语交际句型:
Is that your friend?
No, it isn’t.
What does he/ she look like?
He / She is….. /has…
Do you know ….?
No, what does he / she look like?
五、 教学过程
StepⅠ. Prepare
1. Let the students prepare a photo of themselves or their family members.
2. Take out their photos and lead in the new words.
tall, short, heavy, thin, medium height, medium build, short hair, long hair, straight hair, curly hair…
(设计意图:利用家人的照片,让学生有亲切感,面对熟悉的照片,急于想用另外一种语言—英语把它表达出来,创设了一个好的情境和学习英语的良好氛围,从而激发了学生学习语言的积极性。)
Step Ⅱ. Presentation
1. Ask students to look at the PPT. Show the pictures of some famous people and ask student to describe the people.
2. Describe the people with the new words. For example, She is thin, she has curly hair.
3. ask three students to present these words and phrases (thin,medium build,heavy,tall,medium height,short),and present eight sentences in pairs to practice them.Ask two studens to compare their hair (long hair,short hair,curly hair,straight hair)
4. Look at the picture and describe a person. Practice the sentences in groups. One student describes, and others guess. Use the sentences in 1c.
5. Listen to the recording, and finish activity 1b,2a and 2b. And listen again, read after the recording.

七.教学反思
本节课是这个单元的第一课时,其主要目的是要教会学生来描述一个人的外貌特征。引入很重要,通过呈现家人的照片,对thin-heavy,tall-short,long-short,curly-straight,并在操练中学会运用他们。使学生在学习了这节课后能对家人和同学朋友用英语进行外貌描述,使他们有成功感,提高学习英语的兴趣。我深刻的体会到在上课之前老师必须要有充分的准备,要善于应对各种情况,要让自己的每一个教学环节都具有在、实效性,要向课堂40分钟要效益。
