Step I Revision
1. Talk about story of the article in Activity 3a on page 78 by asking several students to read it.
2. Dictate some words and phrases
3. Ask the instructure of The Past Perfect Tense: had + P.P.
Step Ⅱ 1a
Read the instructions to the students.Do the exercise of 1a together. Remember to read the sentence in the brackets. Point to the chart with the three headings Nouns, Verbs and Adjectives. Read the words in the brackets to the students and help the students to understand the meanings of nouns, verbs and adjectives.
Ask some students to tell the Chinese meaning of each word.
Check the answer of the blank.
Step Ⅲ 1b
Make a dialogue with a student,then ask the student to make a dialogue with another student. Ask all the students to make the dialogue with their partner. Then ask some pairs to act out the dialogue.
Step Ⅳ 2a & 2b
This activity provides students practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation.
2a: Ask the students to talk about what had happened in the four pictures then write down the four person’s name. Play the recording and ask the students to check the answers.
2b: Ask the students to listen again and fill in correct answers. Then check the answers by asking some students to tell their answers and read the sentences aloud.
Step Ⅴ2c
This activity provides oral practice using the target language.
Tell the April Fool’s Day stories. Use the information from 2a and 2b.
Then ask the students to work in pairs.
Step Ⅵ 2c Homework
1. Write something that has happened to you recently. Use two or more phrases from the list in Activity 1a.
2. Write a conversation in Activity 2c.
3. Remember the new words what we had learn in this lesson.
