一、说教材
I，教学内容分析
本课时是新人教版八年级下册unit6 An old man tried to move the mountains.第四课时，是继“愚公移山”学习后再次对文学的赏析，主要是教会学生学会欣赏名著, 谈论中西方传统文化。正确运用句型结构来表达对客观事物的评价，并在此基础上应用简单的语言对名著中的角色进行正反两方面的评价。
II，教学目标
英语作为一门语言学科是集听说读写为一体的，而教学的终极目标是循序渐进达到写的升华。
1. 语言知识目标：
重点单词：object, hide, tail, magic ,stick, excite, western, fist, couple, smile, marry
重点短语：turn into, fall in love with, get married, so… that, as soon as
重点句型：The monkey cannot turn himself into a person unless he can hide his tail.
语法：状语从句的用法
2. 情感态度价值观目标：
通过阅读短文，能按要求找到相应的信息。通过阅读提高学生们的阅读能力。了解《西游记》中美猴王这一人物的大体情况。多阅读中国传统文学名著，让学生们明白中国传统文化的博大、精深，并吸取中国传统文化中的精华。
3. 能力目标：
1) 学会欣赏中西方名著，并分析其中的人物角色。
2) 学会谈论中西方传统文化，了解各类电影和电视节目的名称。
3) 正确运用句型结构来表达对客观事物的评价。
4) 通过学习，激发学生爱读书、好读书的良好习惯。
4. 策略目标：
利用不同媒体获取相关的学习资源，通过合作、探究的方式学习；学会正确评价自己的学习行为和学习效果。
5. 情感目标：
学会客观地评价事物；正确表达自己的意见；正确认识中西方传统文化。
III，教学重难点
1. 教学重点：
1)四会词汇的掌握： as soon as ,unless ,so...that的用法，并用这些连词更连贯地讲述故事。识记并运用本课所学的单词、短语、句型 掌握本部分出现的生词和词组，达到熟练运用的目标。
2) 阅读能力的培养和提高。通过相关连词as soon as ,unless ,so ...that流畅地讲述故事并表达自己的见解。通过阅读练习，来提高阅读能力。
2. 教学难点：
1) 阅读短文，理解文意，获得相关的信息的能力如何大面积的提高？
2) 最大限度的鼓励学生应用一定的从句进行写作方面的训练。
二、说教师的教法和学生的学法
教学的最终目标是促进教学相长，无论是教师教的目标，还是学生学的目标，最终的落脚点在教法和学法的统一上。
英语课标强调传统单向传导式的、以注重语言知识传授而忽视语言能力和态度情景培养为特征的、封闭的英语课堂教学模式，极大地挫伤了学生学习英语的积极性。课堂教学的转型需要教师把英语教学更多地视为一个学生主动进行言语实践活动的过程，因此英语教师应从知识传授者的角色转变为英语教学活动的设计者和组织者。
八年级是学生的一个明显的分界岭，结合学生的实际情况，其中有三分之一的英语学习基础较扎实，有三分之一的学习居中，剩余的学生的英语学习处于劣势。尤其本课时是一个以阅读为主的，这样好多学生的学习主动性不能很好的发挥出来，针对学生的学习情况，继续培养学生学习英语的积极性与主动性，激发他们学习英语的兴趣，引导学生大胆进行英语的口语练习，并辅以相关的影像资料，从词汇到相关句型循序渐进，为进一步学习打好坚实的基础。
所以在具体的教法上要体现真正实现 “授人以渔”的方法策略，在授课过程中，一般的问题1. Which book is talked about?2. Who is the main character?3. What is he like?让学生自己去解决，一般的斜坡鼓励学生自己去爬。教师在课堂教学中的主导作用放在画龙点睛式的观点提炼与综合上，放在指点迷津式的解难释疑上，而不是放在教学内容的统盘式包揽上。
同时教师还要在学法上对学生主动放手，培养学生的自主学习的能力，启发和引导学生从“不会”到“学会”，再到“会学”；培养合作学习的能力，合作学习有助于学生之间的交流，达到更高的认知目标；培养发现和解决问题的能力。
当学生在某一问题的理解上，陷于山穷水尽时，通过教师的搀扶，顺利得以解决。这样，才能使学生真正体会到学习的艰辛与快乐，认识到自己的潜力与不足，感受到老师的指导是多么的必要和可贵，从而进一步激发出强烈的求知欲，更加尊重老师的劳动，自觉珍惜课堂上的每一分钟，珍视老师的每一次指导。
