Unit 2 Grammar A and B
Presentation （Grammar Part A）
1 .Use the context in Part A1 to arouse students’ interest. Talk to
students about how many hours they spend doing various things. Write down
the results in a table on the Bb. Introduce the idea of ‘more than’ ,’fewer than’ and ‘less than’.
2. Ask students to study the sample sentences at the top of the page. Read
each sentence. Invite students to make one more sentence about each
picture.
3. Review the difference between countable and uncountable nouns. Elicit
6-7 nouns to illustrate the differences.
4. Ask students to read and complete ‘Work out the rule!’
5. Ask students to study the table in Part A1 carefully. Work out the
correct information and complete sentences 1-4. Complete the table with
their own information to arouse their interest. Ask them about their
results comparing with Nancy’s and John’s
Presentation (Grammar Part B)
1. Ask students to look at the pictures at the top of the page and read the
sentences under each picture. Explain that we use ‘the most’ for the
largest amount and ‘the fewest/the least’ for the smallest amount.
2. Ask students to read the sentences on their own and then ask questions
to elicit the rule in the introduction.
3. Ask students to read and complete ‘work out the rule!’
4. Part B1 is a problem-solving task and they have to use deductive skills
to work out the information from the table on page 24.
5. Ask students to read out the sentences to check the answers..

1.运用most ……than ， fewer ……than 和less……than比较数量
2. 运用the most比较两个以上的事物，表示数量最多，运用the fewest 和the least 表示数量最少.

1. Millie has more flowers than Amy . 米莉比艾米的花多
more……than用于比较数量，意为“比……多”。 more是many或much的比较级，后接可数名词复数或不可数名词。如：
Tom studies more subjects than Peter . 汤姆学的科目比彼得多
My sister has more free time than I . 我妹妹空闲时间比我多
句子结构: A + 动词+more+可数名词的复数/不可数名词+than+B
2. Daniel has fewer CDs than Kitty . 丹尼尔的CD没有凯蒂的多
fewer 是few 的比较级,修饰可数名词复数 fewer……than “比……少” 如：
Mary has fewer books than Lily . 玛莉的书比莉莉的少
其结构: A + 动词 + fewer +可数名词的复数 +than +B
注意few和a few 的区别: few 意为”很少,不多”表示否定的意思,而a few 意为”几个” 表示肯定的意思. 如:
She has few friends . 她几乎没有朋友.
There is a few eggs in the fridge . 冰箱里有几个鸡蛋
3. Simon has less orange juice than Sandy . 西蒙的橘汁比珊蒂少
less是little的比较级,意为”比……少” ,用来修饰不可数名词的数量 . 如:
Kate has less money than Lucy . 凯特的钱比露西少
其结构: A + 动词 + less + 不可数名词 +than + B
注意little和a little 的区别: little 意为”很少,不多”表示否定的意思,而a little 意为”几个” 表示肯定的意思. 如:
Lily has little money. 莉莉几乎没有钱
Kate has a little money . 凯特有些钱
4. Amy scored the most points . 艾米得分最多
句中的the most + 可数名词复数,表示”在三者或三者以上中最多”:也可以用于不可数名词:the most+不可数名词 如:
He has many books. I have more books. She has the most books.
他有许多书, 我有更多的书, 她的书最多
the fewer +可数名词的复数, 意思”在……最少” 如:
I scored few points. Amy scored fewer points. Tom scored the fewest points.
我得的分很少, 艾米得的分更少, 汤姆得的分最少
the least + 不可数名词 意为”在……中最少” 如:
He has little money. I have less money. She has the least money .
他的钱很少, 我的钱更少 她的钱最少
