The grammar part in this unit mainly focus on using object clauses or objects + object complements , object clauses or question words +to – infinitives , adverbial clauses or to-infinitives. Students have learnt the knowledge. The teacher can make students understand the sentences clearly. The topic of this grammar part is still about robots. The students are expected to use the sentences to talk about robots.
Analysis of students
Students have learned the knowledge of this part but they still can’t use the sentences correctly. So the teacher should explain how to use them .

1. Present sentences

总结:有时可以用“动词+宾语+宾语补足语”来代替宾语从句,这类动词有see, find ,consider, feel等。

1. Answer 2 questions:
(1)Did Mr Jiang’s robot know when to wake Mr Jiang up at last?
(The robot no longer knew when to wake Mr Jiang up at last.)
(2)Did Mr Jiang know what to do with the robot?
(Mr Jiang didn’t know what to do with the robot.)
2.Write what, which, when, where, who, how and tell students sometimes we use question words+ to infinitives to replace object clauses.
3.Change the sentences into object clauses.
(1) The robot no longer knew when to wake Mr Jiang up.
( The robot no longer knew when it should wake Mr Jiang up.)
(2) Mr Jiang didn’t know what to do with the robot.
( Mr Jiang didn’t know what he should do with the robot.)
4.Go through the sample sentences.
5. Ask students to finish the exercise, and check the answers together.
6.补充练习-利用I forget, I (can’t) remember, The robot knows/ doesn’t know, I (can’t) decide将下列句子改为“疑问词+动词不定式”结构。
a. Where will you order a robot?
b. How often should you change the batteries?
c. What will the robot buy at the supermarket?
d. When does the robot make lunch boxes for you?
e. Which of the two robots will you buy?

2.Tell students in order to means with the purpose of. Sentences with in order to can be changed into adverbial clauses:
In order to have more free time, we should make good plans.
(We should make good plans so that we can have more free time.)
3. Go through the sample sentences.
4.Work in a group to work out the rule.
5.Finish the exercise and check the answers.
6.补充练习-用动词不定式改写句子。
a. I’m running quickly so that I can catch the bus.
b. Jim worked so hard that he got a good mark in the exam.
c. He wanted to buy a robot so that he could make his life easier.
d. We are so busy that we can’t spend time playing.
Some students answer the question with in order to.
总结:可以用动词不定式替换状语从句。too…to和enough to替换结果状语从句;in order to 替换目的状语从句。
