Step 1Revision
Help students to revise what is learnt in 3 periods of this module.
Step2 Language practice
Task1: To summarize and consolidate the usage of adverbial clause with so, so that and because
Directions
(1).Run through the examples with the Ss. and make sure that they are familiar with the use of adverbial clause with so, so that and because .
(2). Ask the Ss. to repeat the sentences in the box.
(3). Ask “Can you make other similar examples?”
(4).Focus the Ss’s attention on the structure.
Task 4: Ask and answer about heroes in Activities 3 and 8.
Directions:
(1) Ask the Ss. to ask and answer about heroes .
(2).Call the answers back from the class.
Task 5: Listen and choose the best answer in Activity 6.
Directions:
(1) Ask the Ss. to listen to the interview and choose the best answer.
(2) Exchange work and peer correct with their deskmates for accuracy.
(2) Call the answers back from the class as complete sentences.
Step 3 Writing and Module Task
1. Task: Write a passage about Yuan Longping in Activity 5 on page 75.
Directions
1. Give them an example and make sure that they know what to do.
2. Ask the Ss to w rite a passage about Yuan Longping
3. Call back a few examples from the whole class.
4. Then summarize
2. Task: Write about a hero.
Directions
1. Run through Activity 9 with the Ss. in and make sure that they understand them.
2. Ask the Ss to make a list of heroes individually.
3. Research your hero and write about your hero. Circulate and monitor their production.
4. Read them loudly or put them up on the wall.
Note: Let the Ss look at it when they have a spare moment.
Step 4 Around the world
Task: Learn something about Florence Nightingale.
Directions
1. Ask the Ss. to look at the different pictures about Florence Nightingale.
Tell the Ss. some knowledge about them.
2. Read the text and answer any questions the Ss have.
3. Discuss what they know about other heroes.
Step5 Recalling
Recall what we have learned today.
Step 6 A test
Complete Ex 3 on page 128 in the TB. Let’s see who can finish it as soon as possible.
Step 7 Homework:
Finish all the exercises in the WB.
